Does World have a provision for flying a "min-sked" trips. ie: If you don't want to be gone that much can you give away trips or bid a minimum schedule? My understanding is that they can send you on a 20 day trip - is this true??

Thanks - Baja.

As I understand the new contract all lines will be constructed with a minimum of 12 days off (incl 6 consecutive.) Also, all "open-flyer" lines (sort of like reserve, except you sit at home and wait for a phone call) will have the same.

I'm not sure about dropping trips, but with the new system no one should be out for more than 18 days unless they bid their days off at opposite ends of 2 consecutive months.

My understanding is that the reserve system goes senior (don't fly that much) - any thoughts or comments??

In the past, that has not been necessarly true. There is no "reserve system" as most folks understand it. However, we'll be working under a new CBA soon, so we'll just have to wait and see how the Union and the Company figure things out.
Prior to all the company/labor BS, the unoffical line was to hire 4 pilots a month due to retirements, etc. From what I've heard, that will most likely resume.
