You must be thinking of the three MD-11 spares we were leasing form Delta power by the hour. We may keep using them as spares until they go into conversion for UPS.

We are only going to convert one more MD-11 into a MD-11F. World has decided to go with the B747-400CF for its future cargo expansion plans. At least that's the plan this week.

World Airways TA passed tonight. Details:

* 4% retro pay
* DOS = 5% raise, DOS+1 = 4% raise, DOS+2 = 3%
* Year 1 pay goes to $58/hr. Year 2 goes to $78. Year 15 MD11 CA at
DOS+2 will be $160/hr
* Insurance premiums increase from $28 for family to approx $104/mo.
* Home basing fee raised to $125/mo
* Improvements to A fund.
* Improvements to company-provided loss-of-license insurance.
* Improvemens to life insurance
* Guaranteed hard days off increase to 12/mo. Incentives for volunteer flying.

The bigget issue -- scope -- is still a bit weak. WAH promises to "grow both airlines" (NAA and World.) 90% no-furlough clause in new contract will supposedly be the incentive for not shrinking World.

Rumor of the first B747-400 on the property by the end of the year, although most guys are of the "believe it when you see it" persuasion.

How does year 1 pay go from $48.23/hour to 58 and year 2 only goes from 74.42/hour to 78 if the raise is DOS=5%? Seems like the new year 1 figure you gave might be a little off.

2nd year pilot: ~85 hours x ~ $3.50/hour raise = $297.5 more pre-tax per month

Additional costs: +$25/month home basing + $76/month healthcare = $101 more post-tax

At least the junior guys are only giving back 1/3 of their first raise (probably closer to half after taxes) to healthcare and home basing. Hopefully the slightly swiss-cheese scope language won’t come back to bite. With that management, I wouldn’t hold my breath. Nice job with the retro – that’s a surprise. Hopefully you guys are recalling Don T. He’s in someone’s pocket for letting that scope loophole stay in the contract.

A World 747 in the retro paint job would look pretty cool.

All pay is based on a percentage of captain pay. New hire pay used to be 35% of capt., now it is 40% I believe; plus the 5% pay raise (137.82 *1.05 = 144.71 * .40 = $57.88 first year pay).

All scope clauses are swiss cheese now-a-days... I don't like it either!

Ahhh yes, I forgot about that % of Capt pay thing.

No doubt about the scope clauses out there.

I listened to the "World Pilot Hiring Hotline" today and found out it was updated on March 14th. Says that their is still no plans for hiring anytime soon, but that it could change at anytime. They are still accepting resumes via mail only.

:cool:Congradulations guys/gals. I am glad that you were able to work something out for yourselves. I hope that you guys continue to grow and be profitable. Good Luck!!
