Word to the wise for LAX based ASA crews.
Just got this from a friend, thought you might want to know since you will be doing some Mexico routes.

After clearing normal customs the entire crew and ONLY the crew was asked to go thru a special agriculture check point at LAX where our luggage was "yet again" sent thru a machine. 9 uniformed personnel were assembled for what looked like "just us". I've seen prison movies where the guards treated the inmates better than we were treated. As far as we could tell, not one
of our psgrs was asked to romp thru this special line. I had a green
salad that thankfully I had declared (it was purchased to be eaten on
the plane and luckily a fellow FA told me to jot it down right before
we left the plane). One of the agents told me they are hot on the
trail for crew member with non-declared items. She went on to say if I
had not written "green salad" they would have charged me $500.
Looks like we are more than one "target" list.
