Who's going? Think there will be any hotty girl pilots there? Seriously though I was wondering if it was a good networking opportunity or if they just want to meet with the few female pilots there are in hopes of hiring them? And if this is the case, then how is that fair to us?

"hotty girl pilots"

I think that's one of those oxymoron things like king shrimp or new used car.

Forget about the fact that I made that hotty girl pilot comment. I have known a few to come through my flight school so I know there are a few out there. I really just wanted to know about whether the conference might be a good opportunity, and whether or not guys even attend at all. I was thinking about attending (I'm looking for my first regional job after being an asst. chief pilot for 3 years). Anyone have any feedback about going to a conference like that?

This has been discussed before but yes this is a good opportunity to meet and greet. More relaxed than some meetings, plenty of opportunity to sell yourself. Not to mention, you meet some really great women.

Sorry about trying to make humor out of your thread, I just couldn't resist. I apologize.

Like the guy above said though, the ones that are astecially pleasing (typical male, can't spell) are a little out there, and sometimes suffer from a LOFT* problem. Not all but some. The one's that are not exactly astecially pleasing (haven't learned to spell yet), can usually fly the wings off the plane as well as pleasant to fly with.

Disclaimer: Does not apply to all, offer not vailid is all states, no purchse necessary, you mileage may vary.

I'm going to go get my fire extinguisher and flame retardent suit now.

FLAWLESS!!!!!!!!What the hell are you doing with 6,700 + hours flying and being an ASS CHIEF PILOT ????????????????????????????????????????????????

I know different strokes for different folks but come on :)

Send your resume in bud!

The conference is in Dallas, Texas the week after next. I never wanted to be an airline pilot. I enjoyed being a CFI and stayed at the school for a long time, too long in fact. At age 37 I am just now starting to look at my options and have condsidered flying for an airline. I only have single and multi-engine piston time, albeit lots of it. I've never wanted to take the step down in pay to fly at a regional. But our flight school has had some very dramatic changes lately and the good times are long gone. My wife and I have agreed to look at other options, so that is why I was curious about the WIA conference. One of our female CFIs is going and said it might be a good opportunity to make good contacts. She did not know whether or not men even attended, although she said it was open to men. I just dont want to be the only guy there.
It sounds like everyone has more to say about the comment about hotty girl pilots anyway, so I guess I'll ask elsewhere.

You know, you may be on to something here! I may be a happily married lady, but I ain't blind and I have indeed noticed that whenever I'm flying with a super good-looking guy, he couldn't fly his way out of a paper bag. But the ugly ones, man, that's where the talent is.

Great observation -- I never really noticed the correlation till you brought it up!

Well Spring is just around the corner, and you know what that means?:)
Bridal showers! Networking, you bet! But I just look forward to planning the
soon-to-be baby showers. When will I find time to attend Women in Aviation???

I think it might be a good idea in all seriousness. plus, that's my week for spring break!(now that IS serious)

So not true !!! I am living proof of the opposite !

Too funny, Standby.
'Course, your theory postulates that there are 'super good looking guys' in aviation, and I would have to respectfully disagree. (At least I haven't seen many of them!)
Regarding the Women in Aviation conference in Dallas.....Why dont you just attend and see how it is? You can tell us how it is!

Remember yellow light, red Light? That still cracks me up.

Hugh Jordan, once again, comes through.
PS Know any good flying on Kauai?

You are right, a great observation, I never said it was a one way street.

Nah no chopper.
PS, I may be a haole, but I'm also kind of a local. (Mom/sis over there) As long as I follow my 12 yr old sister around I don't get evil eyes! Otherwise, da hui steal my stuff and I have to sleep in chandler's board room, and watch turtle shape burkharts board!

I personally don't think men should go to the conference because then they will find out how all of us inexperienced women pilots take their jobs from them.

AND....they will also find out about all of our "Down with the White Man" conspiracies.
