I personally don't think men should go to the conference because then they will find out how all of us inexperienced women pilots take their jobs from them.

AND....they will also find out about all of our "Down with the White Man" conspiracies.

Yea, you and the other Betties can take my hand-job from me anytime. Carpal-tunnel is taking it's toll.

Capt Megadeath IS A GIRL?!??! Oh crap, do I feel stupid now!
I thought Megadeath was a rockin dude, but really he's a rockin chick.
As Leonardo DiCaprio would say;"Even better!"

Sad, it just means the possibilities of more empty kitchens and unclean houses

Yes, it is sad. You boys will actually have to cook and pick up after yourselves.

Crashpad,
You crack me up. It is always entertaining when someone realizes I am not a guy. :)

Well there is the playmate who got her CFI, and now flies a Citation X for Playboy....

My Dear Capt.,

We already know how we lose those jobs to the "fairer sex".

Forget about the fact that I made that hotty girl pilot comment. I have known a few to come through my flight school so I know there are a few out there. I really just wanted to know about whether the conference might be a good opportunity, and whether or not guys even attend at all. I was thinking about attending (I'm looking for my first regional job after being an asst. chief pilot for 3 years). Anyone have any feedback about going to a conference like that?

I attended the conference in Reno in 2001 with my wife. She applied, interviewed and was hired by a 121 oufit that weekend. It happened quickly, but it was pre 9/11 and I think a lot of hiring was going on anyway. Seemed like everyone in aviation had a booth at the place and there were plenty of female pilots to go around. They (the WIA) also award scholarships for type ratings and such at these events. I also believe that men have won some of those scholarships, but I may be mistaken.

Good luck with the job hunt. Tough times for sure.
