Woman dies on Delta flight from Nigeria to Atlanta

Comments 19 By Ben Mutzabaugh, USA TODAY
A 57-year-old woman died on a Delta flight from Lagos, Nigeria, to Atlanta this morning. The Associated Press reports the woman "was found unresponsive early Monday aboard Delta Flight 53, about an hour out of Atlanta and about 11 hours after it took off." The Atlanta Journal-Constitution writes "authorities have not said how the woman died, but Atlanta police spokesman Otis Redmond said that foul play was not suspected." The Delta Boeing 777 operating Flight 53 landed without further incident around 5 a.m. ET this morning, according to the reports.

This is expensive, if pronounced dead in flight (on A/C) and not in Jetway airplane is quarantined for 48 hours! (no revenue for 2 days)

No one dies on a flight. They may appear to be dead, but are not really dead until they're on the jetway.

Ma'am....we have a "Dead body" fee.....

It was fully disclosed to you when you bought your ticket......If you had purchased it on the internet BEFORE your flight, it would have been much MUCH cheaper!

All kidding aside.....sad day for the affected family.

Whaddya ya wanna bet her relatives knew she was sick and bought a one-way ticket to the land of free emergency department health care..
