I wouldn't call it a "bloodbath". Rather a wakeup call, for lack of a better word. Sometimes a little pruning is required to keep everyone working together, even when they don't WANT to work together, especially in a single-council ALPA structure.
Either the recall is successful and the new F/O Rep helps put everyone on the same page again, or the recall fails, in which case one of the other two reps will probably resign out of sheer frustration of being locked out of the process and other people will step up who are likely more closely-aligned with the current MEC leadership.
Personally, I have my own beliefs of HOW things got to this point, and I truly don't think it's fixable without one (or more) of the reps changing. At least it's not boring...
