My buddy over at swa just came back from training. He said management in dallas expressed increasing concerns over the rifts developing already in the labor groups. Ty needs to be careful.

I am throwing the the BS flag. There are no rifts between the labor groups. Just between FI posters. Its all in good fun. We haven't even started the SLI negotiations yet. Everybody take a deep breath. This process will play out. Some will be happy and some will not. A few years will go by and LUV will be much bigger and much stronger. Its all good folks. Wind the clock, just wind the clock.

Without getting into too much revealing detail, In the late 80's and very early 90's I was furloughed by one of the above mentioned airlines, in the pool for another, and left another for Southwest for the job security and culture. I earned the position like almost all other pilots. Some thought I was crazy then later called me a genius. I have always thought it to be a calculated decision based on my experience. And I have been blessed for it worked out well.

Can you accept that truth or are you just going to call BS on this fact.

Thank you for the honest reply. There is nothing to call "BS" on, you admitted the fact that Southwest was never your first choice in airlines to work for and that you feel lucky by deciding to stay, BRAVO!. I suggest you think about those days in the early 90s and remember where you came from the next time you look down your nose at us, "Trannys".

Pure spin. And obvious selective understanding. Your irrational opinions are now meaningless.

And at that time I would have NEVER considered applying to Valuejet who was largely former Eastern pilots who crossed the line. Continental was not even a consideration at the time for similar reasons. I am loyal to our pilot profession. But that was a long time ago and only your self image is why have interpreted any feelings I may have about the Airtran pilots. You called yourself "Tranny". Interesting.

Southwest first choice? Not at the beginning. To be honest where I grew up I never even heard of SWA. But once I learned about the company, they became my only choice. And explain where you got that at some point in time I chose to "stay" at SWA?

Again, pure spin and a denial of reality. I wish the same luck on you as I do Ty.

Sorry, my opinions are now supported by your facts. I will always discount your arrogant assertions due to having confirmed your background. You were in the beginning, Southwest by default not by choice. Now, you've hit the lottery and enjoy the view on your high horse.

Ironically, given your background in the early 90s, and the high standards of loyalty to Southwest as a prerequisite, do you think they would hire you today?

27 driver, call it what you want; it's what my buddy was told by management. Dash, a very rational, convincing argument. KP, why are you at airtran? Couldn't meet the minimums anywhere but aai? Only place that would take you? Where are you furloughed from? Did you vote with the other 98% to strike?

What part of leaving an airline by choice do you not understand? Southwest was a choice for me. And they only hired 1 in 6 applicants back then. It certainly wasn't something I settled for. I earned the privilege.

Like any position I have applied for, I could only hope they would hire me. I certainly didn't get the job because they purchased my company.

You sound very bitter. What are your rational issues? And for the sake of mature discussion, please don't include your irrational view that SWA pilots think down on the Airtran pilots. You might feel inferior, but we don't think that of you.

KP,
Many of us SWA'ers are here by choice not by default!!!

Ty,
You need to stop using your 50 aircraft orders in your comparison. You said yourself that things can change. So until they are on property, they are not assets!

Hey man, you don't need to convince me of anything and frankly, I don't care. I just called you out for who you really are and obviously I touched a nerve.

You just can't rationalize in a mature discussion with an irrational, immature person. Your calling out is only a manifestation of your imagination. God help us if you are the Airtran gold standard. And who's nerve has been touched? You have been the aggressor all along. Maybe it really isn't your nerve that has been touched. Sounds like you are just.....touched.

Time to move on.

Again, best of luck.
