AdamKooper said:Probably 80% sure of that. I'd also not take any jobe they offer you. Its a horrible place were at least 1/3 are PFTs from gulfstream. I'd go to Xjet if I were you, they truley are the best regional and the only one worth giving a dang about. They are #1 is everything from Contract to QOL to Upgrade to IQ of the pilots.

"Skip the CFI" he proclaimed to the high schoolers. This is THE way to get to the airlines. "Pinnacle will take you in a second!"
I also want to know why most of the significant regionals had booths and recruiters there yet Mesaba was a no-show...

All depends if neal cohen wants to add another wing to his estate. Maybe he will dedicate in our honor, that'd be sweet.regionaltard said:A few things would have to happen. First, the senior guys at NW would have to push the junior folks under the bus in a doomed attempt to save their pensions. Next, the mainline pilots furloughed as a result would have to underbid Pinnacle to bring that flying over to Northwhip. Mainline pilots underbidding Regional pilots? That'll never happen, right?

As much as you told me you were looking forward to saying, "I told you so", I'm NOT looking forward to telling you the same, but I'm betting I will here in about 6-8 months.Detroitpilot22 said:People seem to forget what compass exactly is. It is for aircraft 76 seats and HIGHER. PInnacle is in competition for everything 76 and lower. The only reason Compass wanted a crj on its fleet was to hold the certificate until they could take some 76 and higher planes early next year. Pinnacle might not look the same one year from today, but they are not going to lose that much flying to this compass thing.

You are WRONG about Compass' 76-seat aircraft not affecting Pinnacle's flying. It's really very simple, I'll try to break it down for you.
1. 50 seat aircraft are MONEY LOSERS. The ONLY reason PCL makes money with them is because Northwest pays an absurdly high fee per departure. That's GOING to change when the RFP results are announced.
2. 50 seat aircraft are too small for some of the markets they serve; that's just a numbers FACT. Those markets are too small for a DC-9 or Airbus aircraft, so they need an aircraft with a reasonable CASM in a size that fits the market; enter the 76-seat RJ.
3. There are only so many markets that need service by Northwest and, when the 50-seat CRJ is a money-loser, there's absolutely no reason to keep it when you have a replacement aircraft for it that ISN'T a money-loser.
With every 76-seat aircraft that comes on property, either Mesaba will lose an Avro or Pinnacle will lose a 50- or 44- seater. The CRJ's will be put to pasture as Northwest takes block hours away in Pinnacle's higher-volume high-yield markets.
Not all of them will go away of course, but I'd bet you money it's going to be a double digit percentage.
