This potential transformation of LGA (although much needed) seems waaaaay far fetched with all of the tree huggers, rampant class warfare and the current socialist mayor:

And yet nobody seems to understand (except the loaded Middle Eastern folks in Dubai and Doha) that the conditions of airports say a lot about their communities - first impressions count! As a supposed "world class" city, New York should have modern, well-run airports instead of the complete dumps that they are... Didn't Joe Biden say arriving at LGA is like arriving in a 3rd world country????? London says no to a new Heathrow and I am betting we don't see much done in the NY area...

All the NYC airports have their inherent grittiness. There's only so many more band aids you can put on LGA. JFK is getting better, T3 was a glazed in Soviet era parking garage, good effing riddance. T-2 is like a goddamned Bombay rug bazaar during connecting banks in there - that should be next to be flattened IMHO.

Bulldoze LGA, JFK and EWR and build a massive airport with like 200 gates and 6 parallel runways all connected with maglevs to the city centers.

Hey, they rebuilt Chicago Midway and it turned out pretty nice. They could do it there too.

Midways biggest problem now is they didn't build big enough bathrooms for the number of people who come through that place. Always a line.

I don't know about maglevs, but otherwise I don't think that would be such a bad idea.
