Don't hear too much from the folks with SJS about mentioning going to to RAH. All you hear is XJT or SKW. A really hot chick I know has SJS and all she can babble on about is XJT vs SKW. Must be an OC thang huh? I guess that's where the popular kids go to fly, huh? I'm lost here.

I think it would be a lot better to make captain at RAH and look over at the FO and know he or she isn't from Pan Am or ATP or some pilot factory with 600 and 100. I'm just throwing this out for discussion. I chose RAH because of the high minimums, which would put the odds in my favor (not all the time, of course) that there would be more experience in the cockpit.

You are correct in my opinion. Republic is the best diversified and has somehow gained a monopoly over the E170 flying.

They operate on a tight margin, but so does CostCo and they are beating Wal Mart without beating up labor to do it.

If I were going to another small jet carrier, Republic would be at the top of my list.

LMFAO!!!! Popular kids...? Right you got it all figured out! Do people think before opening their mouths on this board...? Mouthbreather!

P.S. XJT ..Great Equipment, Good Flying (What CHQ hasn't gotten yet),Great Management,Great Training, Fair Pay for industry times, etc....if I were her I would rant as well about the company. Last time I checked a PC is a PC you put up or shut up 600 or 6000 hours and there is always much to learn but thats why XJT must ensure their are captains in the left seat capable of mentoring and teaching.

Cheers,
Stinker
Ex Waterskiier and Current Jetlinker

I will give your hot chick a shiney jet.

Ok, so based on a response up above we can see almost immediately what sort of thing I'm talking about here.

Once again, why the XJT v SKW argument when Stinker is the type of FO you're going to get about 80% of the time?

Thanks for highlighting your gifts to the aviation community.

Does it hurt your fellings that other people talk about another company? Who cares :crying: go get your blankey and take a nap.

Oh, snap! (did that get your attention? its in your language) We've got another one here from XJT. Step right up. Step right up. Keep em coming. The point is being proven.

From what friends at SKW & RAH have said to me, I'd take SKW over RAH any day. RAH is essentially a non-union shop (Teamsters make ALPA look like Mother Theresa). So why pay union dues? Save your money and work at SKW.

Ok, that's a mature post Master Shake, thanks. Good point. Any others?

A really hot chick I know has SJS

Send her to GoJets. Why "waste" time flying an E120 (at SKYW) or a "mere" 50 seater ERJ at XJT? Come on! Bring on the 70 seaters! Let her go to GoJets.

I was being serious. My two friends at RAH have nothing good to say about their union or it's supposed abilities. I'm not going to air their grievances here. My only point was, both airlines are about the same. So why pay union dues? How is that immature?

I was being serious too Master Shake. I thought your post was a mature one, seriously. Thanks for the note. I noticed the dues thing on the teamsters site. I grew up in Houston and used to drive by the little Teamsters building off I-45 and I remember thinking how terrible it must be to have to pay dues to a union!!! Ha ha ha. If that's the only thing that's bad then I feel pretty good about the choice.

My bad. I'm so used to FI users making snide remarks. Hard to have a real discussion on here sometimes.

Look at the union presidents...a fat dude who looks like he's going to keel over soon from a heart attack (Prater) or one who has good mob connections (Hoffa).
When you are picketing, ALPA uses a giant inflatable rat to scare mgmt...Teamsters use axe handles.

Point=Teamsters

In all seriousness, ALPA has great resources for pilots and is better organized than the IBT, so far in my experiences.

The chick in question only wants VFR good weather flying in a shiny jet. Doesn't want to do anything besides program the FMS and talk on the radio in a sexy voice. I'm noticing this is common.

Good VFR flying only? LOL!

Only wants to program the FMS and talk on the radio in a sexy voice? Hahaha, kids these days.

And so what exactly happens upon takeoff, and lose an engine in hard IMC? How will her FMS programming skills and sexy-radio voice help her?

Maybe she'll get lucky and the captain will do EVERYTHING in that emergency.

:puke:

100 percent correct. We're working to slowly improve IBT 747 but it's a long process. Teamsters may not be completely useless if we the pilot group keep bitching and plugging at it , and if our useless BA and Attourney can be ousted(see Net Jets and local 1108 for some hope). OTOH if we were ALPA we'd have likely been absolutely steam-rolled by the J4J protocol instead of the fairly limited amount here (RAH) now.

As to the original topic there are major differences between XJET and RAH, some good some bad. I don't personally get my panties in a wad about this place anymore; the exponential expansion coupled with almost zero infrastructure support is really getting old.

PS bonus points for those who know why RAH pilots are Teamsters instead of ALPA.

XJT has been hiring low time turds for a long time now and its starting to show. High wash out rate for newhires and upgrades. Hell, half a newhire class just got fired for cheating on their written.

SJS nipped in the bud...:crying:

Hey Drizzle,

I just saw that episode of ATHF and it had me rolling. I'd wondered where you got your name, and now I know.

Sorry that this is the commentary on American society. Just because Hunter did it on Road Rules doesn't mean that cheating is ok at XJT. Is that where we are? I just threw up in my mouth.

This thread is all over the place, but someone on the Majors board posted that wexford owns a majority interetest in Frontier.

At the same time Frontier's scope just got destroyed (why their pilots voted for this I dunno, stupid I guess). But RAH's E170 flying will probably grow to at least 75% of Frontier's flying on their property.

Sad for F9 pilots, but happy days for Republic E170 drivers.

They are teamsters because ALPA didnt want to touch their small pilot group years ago when they wanted representation. Chautauqua was a small regional prop carrier up in Jamestown, NY and was in the process of being sold. The pilots sought representation and the Teamsters picked them up.

I now know 4 people that have gone to RAH. Three have resigned within the first year; one is in training. (Couldn't get hired at SkyW due to legal issues). I have walked in about 5 resumes at SkyW...all are very happy.

I think in general the bases for SkyW are a lot better.

BTW I've been here for 10 months. 4 day weekends every week next month. 95 hours credit.

flame on...
