First year wages at the majors aren't much better.

Northwest: 29,250
United: 29,120
USAir: 23,400 (not AWA side)
Continental: 30,628

This does not include per diem or anything else. So how is this Skybus outfit-with its 30,000-any different.
Now, I don't know what their second year pay is, will be, or whether they'll be around to have to worry about that stuff.

My point is, our industry sucks, no matter what angle you look at.

Also, if they (Skybus) are so horrible, how come people are going there?

BTW, I don't work there, and could care less about them. They just happen to be the latest catalyst for discussion.

Oh, went on their website to check it out, and noticed the "Rules of flying".

Am I understanding this correctly? You MUST NOT bring your own food onboard.
WTF??!!
How, as a crewmember, do you tell somebody to leave their food behind? WOW.
And people think Ryanair (Europe) is the pits in airline travel.

That's it, I'm starting my own airline: You will not be allowed to bring your own luggage-you must buy mine on board. Plastic bags not authorized!

Just like a movie theater... think they make you open your backpack to prove you're not hiding food?

Can I get a letter from my doctor declaring I need my "comfort food"?

Hey, it works for all the little old ladies scamming the system by getting letters from their doctors so Fifi can ride for free and not have to sit in a carrier.

I'd love to see 20/20 follow some of these people.
