Anyone know why since 2005 that CAL hired the best pilots (generally speaking) compared to other majors?

How'd you determine CAL has the best pilots???

How did Pocono Pilot slip through their fingers?!

I think you have it backwards. They hired pilots that did not have 1000 hours turbine PIC so that the junior pilots would agree to ANOTHER substandard contract due to not being employable if furloughed for standing up for themselves.

Because they were the only one hiring?

Don't feed the troll.

I don't know, but I will ask the ones that I know who left CAL for Delta.

CAL hired scabs and those who couldn't get hired anywhere else.

Hiring practises are full of shame - 22 year old scabs, 23 year old Flight managers or whatever you call them, their sons and nephews, whoever screws the instructors in the training center or leadership, minorities just to check the box, etc. Very few actually deserved to be there.

2005-2007 has many normal guys, but in general it is a crappy place and it never attracted good people. The worst make it to management.

Thanks. Just finished a 4 day trip that sucked (wx delays, maintenance problems, you name it). I needed a good laugh!!!

That's funny.

Come on..........you know he's right. Could any other pilot at any other major land on a taxiway, park at the gate, and walk away from it. I tend to think pretty much any other carrier would have ended up in a pile at the end of the taxiway.:D

CAL sucks....
6 crossing this month, and 2 VJM phone calls!

I flew 7 days in June. Have not flown for July yet...... and that is bad? Yup, CAL really sucks.... sucks for building time I guess.

Define "best Pilots" ....generally speaking, of course

Ones that feel at home on the plane, are relaxed, bang eurogirls and bring chocolate for the FAs....

Cool pilots are not worried about stupid rules and we keep ourselves at 78 degrees or less.
