With PIT begging for carriers why dont they try Allegiant? With US pulling out a nonstop to FL or NV could be a money maker any thoughts?

The whole business model of Allegiant revolves around zero competition. If another carrier flies PIT-LAS then they simply won't bother to get into a fare war.

I think WN has a couple of non-stops to Vegas as well as Florida destinations.

A fare war? Who would they be at war with, themselves? Their prices are usually uber low. My buddy not long ago bought 4 round trip tickets from CHA to orlando for $29 each round trip.

Southwest Airlines already does both LAS and MCO out of Pittsburgh. Airtran does two flights a day to MCO out of Pittsburgh. If I remember right, Allegiant pulled out of SWF the day before Airtran started service there last year.

Allegiant is not going to battle much larger LCC's that are already established in a market.

Airtran or Jetblue matches fare's (SWF) and Allegiant waves the white flag! Typical market does not support direct competition! Allegiant serve's FL from YNG which offers the PIT crowd a cheap option! PIT to LAS nonstop doesn't work with an 80!

The question is why doesn't anyone else fly non-stop Topeka - Orlando Sanford?

Knowing the customer base of your business is what keeps you out of bankruptcy and running a foul of investors.
