Greetings all-

I am preparing my application and cover letter for Great Lakes, and I am looking for the name of the current chief pilot. Any help? Thanks much.

That's Capt. Scott Brekhus to you.

If you live in Denver and want to grab PIC time in a hurry, it's not that bad. Granted you need to really understand what you are getting your self into as far as pay and work rules.

I don't think there's any way to fully understand what I hope I'm getting into (and I can't believe that I'm hoping for a job that pays this low), but I've talked extensively with Lakers, both past and present, and I have a decent idea of what life is like there. I'm basically sacrificing short-term comfort in hopes of a long-term payoff.

Get the PIC time...

A few moons ago I had a buddy go to Lakes. We tried to warn him about the place and suggested that he should go to a "quality" regional like Mesaba or Whiskey. He muttered something about pic time and went to Lakes anyway. I went to Mesaba, you know, the "quality" regional.

Fast forward 6 years...He's now a CA at AirTran and I ended up slugging it out at a 135 outfit after walking away from the red-tailed train wreck. Over 4 years of sitting right seat in the Mighty AVRO waiting for the upgrade that was just around the corner. Heck, maybe it's time to send my stuff into Lakes.

Go to Lakes, get the PIC time.
