IF, and that's a big IF, they find them, they may sometimes confiscate them.
About 2 years ago, I forgot that I had illegal nail clippers in my bag (you know, the kind with the extremely deadly pointed nail file on it). They must have been in there for three months before I found them (put them in there for a long road trip then forgot about them - I guess the TSA was the last thing I was considering). During those three months I usually wasn't asked about anything in my luggage while going through screening. However, I was once questioned about the excessive number of batteries in my company-issued flashlight (no kidding - I couldn't make that up!). So I asked the highly trained terror-sniffing gumshoe, "exactly how excessive is the number 2?" Realizing how stupid his point was, he let me go through with my flashlight and my al-qaeda sponsored nail clippers.
I'm curious to know if there are any TSA "Professionals" lurking on this board. I'd love to hear their perspective on the government backed goat-rope that they supply to us every day.

I'll load up my Aztruck with 1,000's of nail clippers and lighters, and other assorted "weapons" and sell them to all the poor b*stards who got screwed in the security line. TSA is a crock!
I will be the shady guy who can fly 900 pounds of stuff into any airport in the US without going through any security. WTF folks? The whole security issue is just another progam so that someone in the government can pass money to supporters and relatives.
But hell, I'm just a freightdog, what do I know?

Look at all of these stories and add the other millions of passengers. Do you actually think they like working there? Here in SLC the 13 dollars they make an hour is good money. Yes some of them are not the smartest but some of the have high level degrees. I would say more then half are looking for other jobs. Just remember they are trying to raise a family just like everyone else. There not trying to make your life miserable there just doing there job.
It's to stop the bum-rush...Hovernut said:Why in the world does it take TWO TSAers to guard the 8' wide checkpoint exit in the SLC Delta terminal????
