I was talking to someone about "all" of the regional airline mergers, but I couldn't even think of more than a couple. Have there been many regionals merge in the last decade or so? Who did it?

Pennsylvania Airlines and Suburban merged 1994ish? And became ALG which recently merged with PDT and kept the PDT name.

You don't remember conversion training? You Beech guys probably didn't have any. I had to do a night ride in the shed.

Chautauqua didn't buy Mid-Atlantic. Republic Airways Holdings (holding company for RP, S5 and RW) bought the Mid-Atlantic's aircraft from USAirways. Republic Airlines flies these aircraft today- they are totally separate from Chautauqua.

This wasn't a merger; it was a change in ownership from Wexford to RAH. S5 was kept as a separate company within the holding company.

Air New England didn't merge with Biz Ex. They ceased operations in 1981. Biz Ex was originally known as Atlantic Air a 135 commuter that had 3 Navajo Chieftains. Owned by an American Airlines Captain,it was sold to Marketing Corporation of America (MCA) around 1983 and re-named Business Express and is now part of the American Eagle system. Air New England was long gone prior to any of this transpiring.

Heard that PSA and PDT will get combined together before too long.

I heard rumors to that effect recently. Kind of makes sense. Why keep them seperate when you now have Usair East and Usair West to whipsaw off of each other.

The hottest news story this year will be a Fall merger of JetBlue, Spirit, and Frontier. You heard it first, here.

When you were doing your conversion training, I was probably standing out in the rain doing my w&b form. And this was after I helped with the carry on bags.

Still glad I flew the beech instead of the pig.
