Any UPS or FedEx guys have some advice? I am getting 50/50 opinions on this question: If one got a 90% on the FEw and has apps in to UPS and FedEx, is 90% considered 'competative' or is a re-take neccessary? If re-take, then does it look bad to the company for taking it more than once? $ is not the problem, just want to do what is right and in the best interest of getting the job!

JMO... 90 is a low score for one of the few readily quantifiable tests all applicants must complete. I would go to one of those 1-day outfits that "prep" you and give the test a few hours later and score better. (Nearly a given you will score high-90's.)

A low score might give the interviewer cause for "concern" on your ability or inability to understand and master relevant subject matter. With only a handful of quality companies hiring I'd do everything within my control to make the best first impression possible. Besides, why give the interviewer ammo to attack... especially since this is so easy to correct PRIOR to an interview? YMMV.

Good luck!

Agree with BBB, if they see that you took it a second time, so what? You were trying to improve right? ;) Good luck!

OMG! They're weeding applicants out based on their FE written scores? That's what happens when HR gets control of hiring pilots. Bring the guys in and actually talk to them.

He!!, you can teach a monkey to be an FE...(I'm a perfect example!).

Study hard--it apparently will determine if you will make a good 747 Capt. TC

Misspelling competitive is not very competitive.

Got an 88% on mine, and was hired. Since we're putting less and less new hires in the back seat as time goes on, I'm really not sure why the score is so critical.

But, like the one guy said, "You put HR in charge of hiring pilots..."
