Which corp./airliners have "limited nosewheel steering" through the rudder pedals?

The Saab doesn't.

Sorry, I was referring to the big ones.

The Twotter has no nose wheel stearing from the pedels either, but that big as$ rudder sure does a lot with a little airspeed.

The tiller turns 71 degrees, but with the rudder you can get an additional 5 degrees out of it? Are you sure about that?

the rudder goes 5 and the tiller handles the rest after that

The ERJ is cumulative. You get 71 out of the tiller and another 5 out of the pedals.

Am I the only one who thinks that is retarted? So to do a full turn, you have to initiate it with the pedals, then the tiller, or vice versa? What the hell is the point of that?

.........or do them both at the same time. Who cares? If you know how to get full authority, use both. BTW the Brasilia is the same, although I can't remember how many degrees you get.

Guess it must be a Brasilian thing!? I still don't see the point in having to use both devices to do what 1 could do by itself. Duh!

Steering with the rudder pedals is used predominatley for t/o and to stay sraight on taxiways. you can initiate the turn with the tiller or the rudder pedals. you dont have to use a combination of the two.

So you are saying to get the max turn, you do not have to use both? That would make sense, but I was only commenting on a previous post that says you have to use both to get the full degree out of the nosewheel.

So which is it?

To get full authority in the Brasilia (and apparently the ERJ) you use both for tight turns/parking. Is it retarded? Who cares? Sheesh.

Yes, it is retarted and I won't talk about it again!

I don't claim to have a clue, bu FWIW we've hired plenty of 300 hour FO's crammed them through 3 weeks of training and plopped them in the right seat. They have full authority to call and execute the abort for whatever reason suits their fancy. Never had a problem stem from this.

FO - Ahem, excuse me, uh Captain, there appears to be some livestock on the runway ahead, I therefore suggest an abort"

CA - Huh, what, oh $hit, abor- SPLAT
