And if you're single, stay the heck away from Kingwood. As the Texans say, "Don't do what I done did!"

Uh oh, that makes 3 of us; I'm off 290 in Cypress... does that mean we're starting a NW Houston pilot ghetto?

Yes! I'm in Bear Creek. What will we call our burb?

Grew up in houston. Museum district..you cant afford. I would pick norhwest. Magnolia/Woodlands. Clean. New. Nice. No riff raff. Buy your house now; get the equity.

Lived in Kingwood for a while. Nice area with all amenities within about 15 minutes (at most). Twenty minutes to IAH.

Woodlands is also nice, but just a bit further to IAH than Kingwood.

Houston is probably the cheapest big city in the country so you should be able to afford something out of the ghetto.

Oh, I agree with others here....Houston sucks!

The Woodlands is one of the nicest places to be - Harris County is not -- high taxes, not zoned and not incorporated... You could have a shack built right next to your house in Harris county...

I am moving back to Austin at the end of the year. The commute is really quick and you could not ask for a better city....great beer, great music and the best looking women in Texas by far...unless you are married...then the ugliest woman in Texas :)
