I'd rather be collecting umemployment than flying on-demand cargo. But that's just me. QOL is more important than anything else to me. This fictional "ladder" that the aviation industry has led us to believe in, to sacrifice everything for an eventual carrot, is just a crock to get us to agree to low wages along the way.

Tommy, you are taking yourself too seriously, the DA-20 is a real pu$$y cat. I have been instructing in it for 5 years. It is a great jet trainer for first time jet pilots, it does give you the skills to go on to bigger airplanes. That is why Charles Lindbergh recommended it to Pam Am back in the early 60's

I may be taking myself too seriously, but I was replying to the c-12 to a dino comment. It is old, but it was a great design. That fact that it is still out there is a testament to that. The reason it is such a good trainer for bigger ac is it is designed like them, systems etc. And comparing it to the planes that I have been lucky enough to fly, and the ones listed in the guys bio who made the comment, it IS way better.

I love to fly and I always felt like I was flying in the 20. The bj flies like a truck, and the citations fly like skyhawks. But thats just my opinion.

I rarely agree with Pilotyip, but he is right on with this one. The 1st jet I ever flew was a DA-10. It was a real sweetheart of an airplane to fly. Anyone with common sence and basic skills can handle a to DA-10 - 900EX.

Tommy: Jurassic jets, DA-20 and DC-9 is an inside joke at USA Jet. There was no slam intended against the good ole DA-20. We love our old airplanes and I think most of us think highly of them and enjoy flying them. But there is nothing high tech about them, you can not even program a level off altitude. You have to fly them and that is their unique beauty.

Try to build the RW time some more, then ditch this fixed wing stuff and find a nice local EMS helo job. Home every night, week on week off usually, 12 hour duty shifts.

yeah, all great except that your life-expectancy just went down the toilet.
