Every dog has their day. Pretty pathetic that you wish fellow aviators to be out of work.

I dont think UAL , USair or any legacy carrier is going anywhere. Why should they when airline MGTS has them in a perfect situation to erode years of contracts and pensions in chptr 11, of employees who have worked hard to get them. The longer these Chptr 11 airlines stay in business the more and more the employees will have to give or be forced to give concession and lose retirement, all while bringing the contracts down of the other airlines that are not in chptr 11 but close. The Gov't doesnt want them to go under then you will have hundreds of thousands now unemployed and needing Gov't money in unemployment benefits. I see this spiral to continue downward until most airlines contracts are worthless and comparable to what they where 20 years ago. Then after that hapeens, in a huge coincidence the airlines will then start making money. Time to put a stop to this now

It's time to put a stop to $29 airfares. I mean when you undercharge for a product the entire industry loses.

axman, your a real piece of work and an even bigger piece of $@#%. How could you wish for thousands of people to be out work? You'll reap what you sew eventually.

I have to agree with the Donger,

Why do some guys wish for bad things to happen to USair, UAL. I know the reputation for UAL guys was not always stellar when it came to being gracious with the jumpseats, but I don't wish people with families on the street looking for work. Unless you are a scab or an a**hole, I generally wish all of you the best.

PS. No more yankee my crankee...the Donger needs food.

With all due respect, go piss up a rope. JetBlue, Southwest, United, and USAir only exist on paper as a corporation, unlike the men and women who work at each of the carriers. For someone who projects the experience that you do in your profile, you still just don't get it. Go crawl back under your rock.

100LL, $29 fares are not price fixing. Matching fares is not price fixing. Calling one another and setting a price is price fixing.

I smell smoke. This guy is a total flamer...yes, in more ways than one.

I agree with Axman,

Ch. 11 is ruining the Industry. Let the strong survive. That's capitalism.

United and Us Air F*%!ng Die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So U and UAL dies...

what does that do to other pilots?

First there will be over 10,000 more pilots on the streets. Not just UAL and U pilots but Mesa, Air Wisc., CHQ, PSA, TSA, PDT etc.
If you think regional pilot contracts are bad now what would they look like with all the rj's parked and pilots on the street?
Then what about all the pilots with thousands of PIC time in A-320's and B-737's. Think its hard now to get an interview at SWA, JB,UPS,FedEx etc.
Most of the pilots at U and UAL currently do not have any idea about SWA or JetBlue's web site for hiring. See how quickly they learn about them when they have a pink slip in hand.

Just because an "airlines dies", doesn't mean the pilots die and leave the industry.

Exactly.........and what happens to all the airplanes? Yet another new upstart buys them and we have the same overcapacity as today?

Yeah, let the strong survive... Like say, ummmm Continental, yeah...!

No, wait a sec, geeze, CAL went through multiple bankruptcies too, before turning themselves around. Hmmm...

Gee, then there is America West, they too seem to have deserved to "live"

Huh, well, I guess I will stop listening to self-interested self centered types that think their poop is smell-free.

There in not a single network carrier out there right now that does not have serious issues. Flying boxes around is the only way to make a decent profit in aviation lately. fixing those issues will require A LOT more than just the failure of one or two competitors pal...

So put your high horse out to pasture, and look to something other than wishing another misfortune, only to improve your own.

Bingo...

Then what type of working conditions will be at the new up-starts?
Pilots will be dumping the lavs etc.

The race to the bottom will have a faster pace.
