Frank Lorenzo said:Gee that's too bad about all those cancellations. I'll bet there were a lot of really pissed of (now former) United passengers.
You think it will be a couple of months or a couple of years before United is back in bankrupcy?
On second thought, they will probably stay out of bankruptcy due to those bottom rung pay rates that the pilots overwhelmingly voted in.

Speaking of the 80's remember when UAL had all those scabs working for them? Oh yeah, they still do. Also setting the standard low! But Yo Nited topped it all off with their EEOC practices in the 1990's! You go girl! Nothing working for a classy operation like UAL who's seniority list looks like a unicef box! Of course throw the scabs in there, and you've got the united nations!
Too bad your company doesn't subscribe to the scab plan! Spoken like a true hypocrite!
Maybe you should do a search of your friend 32's posts, and you'll see my response to him was right on target!koko nw said:Do you have ANY idea of what our demographics is or you just pulling it out of your better end? Do you work here? then how would you know? or for that matter care?
Your post is both tasteless and lacking in any kind of decorum expected from a "fellow" airmen. But I guess that's what this board is turned into unfortunately.
Bosley I have no problem with you calling out another fella's B.S. I just guess it's a little strong to lump ALL of us and call us Yo-nited or a classless group simply by the indescretions of a few.....and let's face it every carriers got them. Peace out.Bosley said:Maybe you should do a search of your friend 32's posts, and you'll see my response to him was right on target!

qualifications(one a Checkairman no less) get turned down only to have "Dolly Dimples" with all of 250hrs SIC turboprop in her logbook get the nod. I don't know..........

skykid said:Nonsense. I used to walk go into the crew areas at United and see what you see at all the other majors - 90% of the guys looked just like me. Mostly exmilitary and white. This myth is played out primarily by people who are pissed because they didn't get hired. United's safety record validates their hiring practices.
Hvy said:It wasn't United's choice. The court ordered it. What part don't you understand about that?
Sonny Crockett said:I direct my anger towards the EEOC.
PHXFLYR said:I'm not angry. Just disappointed that the whole issue reached the point where the EEOC had to get involved.

PHXFLYR said:Nothing. I understand fully that UA was forced into this by the EEOC. What I am saying though is that based on what I saw ,they weren't neccesarily getting the best of the EEOC-qualified candidates. Granted what I saw makes up a very very small demographic of the pilot group as a whole, I still think there were better qualified candidates who met the EEOC requirements than what I saw get hired there at that time.

Hvy said:Also forgot to mention. I'm good friends w/ one of your Bus Captains. He was turned down at United because he had a previous bust on a checkride at his former airline. Your airline hired him. What would you make of that?
GogglesPisano said:Not that you asked me, but turning a guy down because he busted one checkride (out of how many a guy has taken by the time they are competetive at a major -- 10 ... 15?) is retarded.
