Just wonderin' how long you've gone w/o flying this year.

You forgot to include "6 months or more". I'm ready to grow feathers!

I don't think the first 18 years of my life counts. I did, however, go almost exactly a year without a flying job twice. Once when I was looking for an instructing job in Chicago, and once when I was furloughed from Allegheny back in 1994-1995. Couldn't find my ahole with a funnel in the sim when I got on with Eagle after that second forced vacation.

I've been flying my tail off this year.

Bid reserve for two months in a row over the summer to work on the front/backyard. Took vacation during the transition between the two months. I went 35 days without flying. It was great. Kids kinda took to me and the dog didn't growl when I came through the door. Of course its back to normal now. Dam dog.

Question say's this year;)

OK, I know. RTFQ. In that case my longest stretch of time on Earth in 2003 was three and a half weeks earlier this year. Went back because I missed the yummy ATA Pilot Chow.

Blue Water ops

We were out in Blue Water for nearly two months, never launched the COD (C1A), so I did not get to fly.

That's nothing, I could hold my breath for 7 months!

Seriously though... I didn't fly from June 28, 1991 until December 1993, and that was as a flight engineer. Didn't get into the right seat until March 1995. So I guess that could count as 3 years, 9 months.

My current streak started on October 28, 2002 and is still going. I have no idea when my PSA IOE will start. I'm guessing on or about December 24.

OK, I've been in ground/sim for the last two months for a type rating, and havent stepped in the cockpit of a real airplane this whole time. Does that count?

LAXSaabdude.

I went for almost three years, during the last great Aviation Depression . . . . . . 1995-1997.

I was looking for that entry-level job, and finally decided that I could/should make some money and wait for things to turn around. I did, they did, and here I is.

Hang in there, Guys, it WILL get better.

Due to a leg injury, I've flown only around 10 hours in the last three years. All that hard work and money to become an ag-pilot, and it was gone in an instant.
Doctor says with hard work it will take five years to be 100%. I flew for two hours last week. Did fine until time to get out of the airplane, boy that was a task. Can't imagine what it would be like to have to climb in and out of the airplane, and pushing those peddals for six to eight hours a day.

I was up early this morning thinking about this thing. I sure miss flying everyday. Altough, I'm blessed to be able to provide for the family though.
I was thinking it sure would be nice to own another plane. But with the high cost of fuel, insurance and all the other, there is no way right now.
Oh well, life goes on......
