No they haven't. Delayed until Jan '07.
That is not entirely true. Nothing has been scheduled for the rest of this year, but the EB just voted on a new proposal to the NMB. I would look for negotiations to start back within the next few months. It's up to the NMB now to get the two parties back together.

The way I hear it, the IPA negotiating team argued in front of the mediator. She/he said, "I've had enough, go get your stuff together and we'll get together again in 2007." I also heard UPS management is tickled by it.

Real nice. I heard it was the president trying to trade proposed scheduling improvements for more pay so he could retire in 3 years with a fatter check. One or more of the team called him on it.

Your president sounds like a piece of work. All those surveys and he chooses to ignore them for his own benefit, so I hear.

Gives new meaning to "What can Brown do to you?"

Most of the above statement is he said/she said. Bottom line is that the EB agreed on a concensus proposal for the mediator to review. It's in her hands now.

If this would have happened a year ago, I would agree that UPS would have loved thus. However, at this point in time, I seriously doubt UPS is tickled. They need an agreement soon if they want to fly the -400 next year the way they plan to, among other things they want/need in the very near future.

Yup.... absolutely true. He is a piece of work, but he got called on it by HIS peers during the general membership meeting. Over 600 people attended and slammed him and his other two supporters. It was interesting to say the least, watching them be called little children to their faces. They got the message loud and clear and it looks like it worked. Don't know what the new proposal is, but Im sure its geared more toward the survey and not HIS retirement. Im not holding my breath, but after watching the other guys stick up for the pilot group I think its going to work out. They now have a new proposal and have sent it to the mediator. Now if the NC and the EB could just keep their mouths shut and their fingers from typing and sending out email to keep the rumors down, I think we'll see some result sooner rather then later. It was such a relief to see the two EB members actually stand up for the majority rather then the minority. We'll see what happens.... time will tell ehhhh......

I heard the IPA prez was about to get impeached for flying a struck carrier (NWA) out to Hawaii so he could spend a looong layover w/his UPS wife. This all during the 5 day negotiations he left early - just to be with his wife on the beach.......and made the IPA pay for his NWA ticket.......
