There are furloughs coming next month. However, they have already been announced, just delayed. 150+ Captains are being displaced. Down to about 38 airframes by Sept. I think. Down from 65, but back up to about 45 by the end of the year. Looking at UAL B737-300's and -500's, and trying to find some B767-300's. ETOPS for B737-800's in the summer to do HI flights. Some -800's that have left, haven't made it to Asia, yet. Hmmmm. B75's that were leaving, may not be.
It's all very fluid.
Short-term concession signed in Feb. expires end of May. Last summer's concessions expire July 1, unless Co. inks a deal on 100-seat aircraft. B737-500's don't count. There are probably more concessions coming, but the general feeling amoungst the pilots is "Not until July. Then we'll talk."
Operationally, we are meeting or exceding all of SWA's expectations, save one: customer complaints. There have been rapid and positive changes, company wide, since Denison came in. A lot needs to happen, can happen and will happen in the short term. Let's hope it stays positive.
