I'd like to convert my logbook into 1's and 0's. What's the e logbook and why? I'm not a palm user, and primarily would import from my schedule. Any thoughts?

I've used Logbook Pro and it works great. I've never seen any of the others, so I'm not sure about them. You get free upgrades to newer versions of LBP so you always have the latest and greatest at no charge. I also use APDL which is the electronic red book and it is awesome.

Bad logbook pro experience here, dropped them like a rock. Something about "we don't guarantee the paper we sell to fit our logbooks we sell which don't work with the software we sell"...

Chalk another vote up for Logbook Pro and APDL. You get a break on the price when you get both together, and APDL should import your schedule through the software and the internet connection. Research first to make sure your airline is supported. LP stands behind their product and upgrades are always free once you buy in once.

I like safelog but just found out that there is a license fee every three years. Don't know much about logbook pro but if they have just a one time flat fee I'd pick that rather than pay every three years.

I use Microsoft Excel. I already had it so it didn’t cost anything.

If you want to add hours and minutes you must custom format the columns with this
[h]:mm
the brackets around the “H” will add hours to any number, without the brackets you get days and hours.

For example 22:34 plus 2:20 will show 24:54 with the custom format and 00:54 without.

Yep Paul did a great job programming APDL........I have never had any issues as well.

Logbook Pro is ok. It is actually not a big deal unless you are a professional pilot using APDL as well AND are planning on bringing your electronic copy onto your next interview. If not, than Excell will do fine.

However APDL was a great product! But right now it is only an average one since times have changed but APDL has not. Nothing major has been done to it for a long while. They could have made a much better interface by now but it seems like they are just sitting on it. Without APDL I wold not even use Logbook Pro anymore. So hello Logbook Pro guys!!!!!!!! Go work on APDL and charge for it! I would not mind paying as long you would make it better! I wish there would be competition for APDL.

BTW last time I had an argument against a Logbook Pro product on this board the thread was deleted for the obvious reason... This one will go too...

To those that pan lbp, can you say why?
I guess the printing issue was one, any others?
Worse than the $100, would be the time invested logging 10K hours into it and finding out you don't like it!

Well, lets see, the 100 plus dollar leather logbook which wouldn't hold the dollar a sheet paper specially made for it which wouldn't format to fit from the printer. LBP claims they can't assure compatability with all printers. HELLoooo LBP!!! Your product wouldn't print with Apples most popular Laser writer... They would not offer a refund when asked. Questions?

haven't used it since.

Moostro is far superior in my opinion, it downloads from the company and updates all by itelf, i don't have to rely on my ability to decompile a program to make it work...
