For what it's worth, what would you guys say to Jonathan Ornstein if you 20 minutes face to face with him?

Picture Al Pacino in the movie Scarface......

"Say hello to my little friend...."

"I'll give you three steps.mister; three steps towards the door."

Then when he turns his back, I'll shoot him in the back--just like he has done to his employees.

Then as he's writhing on the gound, I'll look him in the eye and say, "My broker didn't steal at EF Hutton. And EF Hutton says DIE!"

segueway into the Scarface fantasy above.....

I'd say Hi, Nice to meet you, My name is Mike.

"JO, you are the greatest guy i have ever met. your work ethics and personality are to die for. when i die, i want to come back just like you, really! that is no lie."

"can i have a job pleeeeeeaaaaaase."

20 minutes? I don't think I could
be in the same room with him for 20
minutes unless someone figures out how
to slow down those leathal injection
devices and he was hooked to it!

I think I'd have to tell him to go outside
and practice falling down and spitting
out teeth, I'll be out to help in a few
minutes.

One of the biggest problems with this
industry is that all you need is fuel,
coffee, and some parts, 'cause there is
always going to be some dumb SOB that
will fly for nothing. God forgive me, I'm
one of them!

Too bad he won't just go climb into a
dumpster and smash his own kneecaps!

Is this clear enough? Or maybe I'm being
to rough on the guy...

I don't know what I would say, but I know what all the MESA temps say.... "Thank you sir, may I have another... Thank you sir may I have another.....Thank you sir, may I have another.... Thank you sir, may I have another"....... And It keeps on happening.

Seen on a bathroom wall.....

Ok, you're in a room with Sadam Hussein, Osama BinLaden, and JO......unfortunately you have a gun with only two bullets...what do you do??????

Shoot JO........TWICE!:p

I would tell him a good joke about all the "Business Leaders" on the flightinfo forum. Its funny that many of you think because you have access to a computer, and some sort of education, and happen to work in the aviation end of business, that suddenly qualifies you to run a multimillion dollar business.

If all of you "big talkers" are so smart and have it all figured out in regards to running an airline, then why aren't you. At least JO has accomplished something you haven't and probably couldn't do. The proof is in the fact that you are still a wannabe and have nothing better to do than b!tch around here, rather than go create and build your own business empire.

Good luck getting beyond your imaginary "MBA" sitting in front of these forums all day! I'll bet JO and all the other true business executives (good or bad) don't have that kind of wasted lazy time!Les

Okay less...I don't have a MBA. I'll bet that
most people that run sweatshops don't. If
Lowerstien has one, he is educated well be-
yond his native intelligence.

It doesn't take any kind of higher education
to be a silk stocking full of s@#T! To say no-
thing of aset of business scruples that
would shamea black widow spider.

Not documented? Then why, after purchasing
CCAIR and promising those pilots jets if they
accepted mesa's contract did he put them on
the street, cease operations of CCAIR, let the
Carolina certificate expire and only take those
crews back as the result of a legal action?

JO is a liar and a cheat...and he will get his one
of these days. If not in this life, surely in the
next. How in the name of anything honest can
you defend him? Do you run a sweat shop?
Are you so anxious to fly a junglejet that you
worship the devil incarnate? You do know,
don't you, that there are airlines out there
making money and providing not just
employment but reasonable quality of life.
And better service to their customers!

Dishonesty and dishonor are not required to
be sucessful in this or any other business, nor
are they qualities to be admired or defended.

They should be prosecuted with extreme
prejudice. What rock do you live under?

I never have said that I could run an airline, or
anything else for that matter...but if a company
can terminate me for lying, I don't think that it
is unreasonable for the same standard to be
applied to management.

I don't want to build an empire. If I did, I sure
as he!! wouldn't build it on a sandy foundation
of lies and distrust. The only wannabe that I
am is honest pay for honest work from honest
leadership. Noblesse Oblige.

Do you also respect those "leaders" at enron,
or at least up till they got caught?

And you, old sod, have time to read the
bi34ting and write with sympathy for the
devil...

Geeze!

I'd tell him I'm concerned about his spiritual health. Hand him a book of scriptures to read. Then see if he had any good advice on when a good time to sell ACA stock would be.

Yeah. Never investigated by the government or banned from my career field for years either. Never been fired. Never destroyed people's lives to improve an ROI.

Stalin accomplished a lot that I haven't. You want he should be my f*cking role model?

Less..."Deflect anger... and...truth hurts???"

Seems to me you missed the point...
the question was what we would say
to JLowerenstine if we had the
opportunity. Do you expect us to hail
him as a savior? I will leave that to
you.

I have freely admited I don't want an
empire. Not a goal of mine. Only thing
I want to do was stated above. Lots
of people have accomplished big things
Hitler, hussein, Stalin, Bin Laden, Al
Copone, Arafat, the list is only as shallow
as your imagination.

I have never slammed the mesa crews,
either. They are just pilots like me, trying
to get by in a bad situation...I will even
talk nice with them, as long as they don't
try to defend Lowerenstine. That would
be akin to defending (IMHO) any of the
aformentioned villians.

If you admire his acomplisments, go ahead,
send him some of my posts (including this
one). I do not believe that the end justifies
the means. If you are willing to look
beyond what has been done to accomplish
these alleged successes, that is your right.
I do not, nor will I ever agree.

I do not work for mesa. I have friends
trapped there, but I am not contributing JLow
in any way. If you work for mesa, fine, if not,
where are you that you think it and it's leader
are such wonderful acomplishments? How am
I contributing? By Objecting to unethical
behavior?

The skinheads are always looking for people
who are blind followers...perhaps you should
apply.

Again, I don't want to run anything. Don't even
want to be CP anywhere (see quote ahead
of my signature...no, it wasn't me). Perhaps you
should (if you want to be positive) point to the
success of the management teams at AirTran
or Southwest, Air Wiskey, UPS or FEDEX. If
you have a MBA and want to run something,
those are much better models to follow...some
even worthy of respect.

You are defending JLow by pointing to his empire
as a sucess without questioning the cost to the
profession and aparently in full knowledge of his
questionable ethics...

And your time here is more wasted than mine,
cause I'm having fun here, and I'm not defending
the devil. Surely you know that you won't get
any converts to your cult here! I don't recall any
of the hotshot posters to this thread saying
anything about having anything figured out about
running airlines. A few pretty funny jabs a an
individual that is very deserving...but that's it!

You're as entitled to your opinion as I am mine,
(warped as yours is)
but stop attributing things to posts that aren't
there. And lighten up! Dude, you're b!tch!ng
about b!tch!ng

hahahaha!!!

Spoken like a true Mesa Lacky(or future Mesa Lacky). Lorenzo and Stalin "accomplished something" as well. So did all those honorable Corporate Executives at ENRON. It doesn't mean we should shake their hands and buy them a round of beer.

As far as sitting in front of forums all day, look in the mirror JackA$$. You've got just as many posts as anyone else.

hey Les...

If J(L)o is such a great, highly
skilled manager, how come he
Lost Money last year? I think
that aca made a few bucks...

Hate to bust your bubble man,
but as you pointed out, I would
loose money trying to run an
airline...so does you hero...for
more info on him, go see your
poster-boy in USA Today.

Bet its some of them voodoo
economics what got him throwed
off wall street!

Ha...Hahaha

I would call 911 and tell them that there is a terrorist standing in front of me who is about to use another one of his WMD (buying ACA) on the aviation community!:D

I would have to ask him how many of his pilots had to endure going to the Grocery Store and give FOOD STAMPS to allow him to have 15 motorcycles. Is there a NO helmut law in AZ?

Aviation, as a whole, is lesser with him in business.

Crooks

First off, I would like to wish the employees of Mesa the best of luck with Jonny O.- You are going to need it. Second, as a pilot of ACA this whole merger thing doesn't pass the litmus test and hopefully, the stockholders recognize when a thief has a hand in their pocket.
In the recent USA today article, it appears that Jon O. is not really a "Team" player. It appears that he has gotten the public relations people working full time on creating a heroic, "Savior" for the airline industry. Just look at his success's, what isn't mentioned are the failures: the loss of the United codeshare agreement the first time), the dismantling of Westair (That particular episode cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 million dollars), the lawsuits brought by stockholders (Settled out of court for 8 million), putting the employees of Westair and CCAir out on the street. Judging by personal wealth, Mr. O. is a "Success" It is too bad that, in my humble opinion, that protecting assetts and actually growing a company long term aren't factored into the equation. The reason why some business are successful is that some managements view their employee groups as "Assetts" and not the enemy. These business are successful, provide stable long term employment for their employees, actually provide a stable tax base for the communities that they live in. These successful business's don't pit one employee group against another, don't cheat their stockholders, don't use the company as their own personal "cash machine". Successful business's usually have a very strong component of "leadership". Part of this leadership is not only being committed to your stockholders but also being committed to your passengers and employees. By providing your employees with the tools that they need and keeping them happy, a leader realizes that the employees keep the passengers happy, the passengers will keep the stockholders happy and everbody will be the better for it. this is such a simple concept. You would have though that J.O. would have learned that by now (I guess I had to go to college and graduate to learn it).
A leopard doesn't change its spots too easily. Quitting school in your junior year, getting fired by five different firms in 9 years, being sanctioned by the Securities Exchange Commission and losing your brokers license, being sued by your stockholders, not being respected or admired by the people that you come into contact with. Making money off of being devisive and putting people out on the street.
There have been many before J.O. (Chord, Lorenzo etc. ad neaseum) and I'm sure there will be many after. The funny thing is, once the light of public attention/opinion starts, these folks crawl back under their rocks and count their money. Hopefully, the illumination has started.

I'd tell him I'm concerned about his spiritual health. Hand him a book of scriptures to read. Then see if he had any good advice on when a good time to sell ACA stock would be.
Then you don't want him to read this one...
It is unChristian to ask for a raise: "And [John the Baptist] said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you. And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? and he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages." (Luke 3:13-14)

I don't think that is in the passage.

In fact, the NIV is much more clear, especially
if you include verse 12..."Tax collectors also
came to be baptized. 'teacher,' they asked
'what should we do?' 13 'don't collect any
more than you are required to,' He told them."

In those days, tax collectors didn't get a
paycheck, they just collected more than
the established rate and put it in their
pocket.

Do you suppose that J(L)O is a reincarnated
Roman tax collector? Would explane things!

He should try this paraphrase on for size

"And Judas hung himself..." and "Go and do
thou likewise."

Get it?

Ha...hahaha!

I don't have anything to say to JO. He's a businessman, and is doing everything he can to increase his profits.

I reserve my speech for those who keep him in business. The ones who can't wait to fly one of his shiny jets. They do more to screw up this industry than JO ever will.

We've heard all the rationalizations before, but hey, if you keep bending over, you can't blame the guy who keeps giving it to you.

Yeah, but what about the guys
that are screwed because he
bought the airline they were at?
JLow has lied to and cheated them,
then tried to cheat his existing
employees by trying to start Freed@mn
Air...They fought that...for what it was
worth. As I pointed out before, there
are profitable airlines out there right
now that view their employees as
assets rather than liabilities.

He is not a good leader or businessman.
He has built a substantial personal empire
but Bin Laden is more popular, and he is
living a a cave!
