Just curious on the how two new-hires managed to get themselves fired???

For puking too much on the walls in the Candlewood. Thank god back when I was hired they didn't pay for your hotel during training. I was able to do all my drinking and puking in a crash pad where no hotel staff could complain to Camielle and have me fired.

It was actually one new hire that got fired. One of the guys on my jumpseat was in the actual class. It happened approximately over a year ago. This kid was a riddle graduate that came from a rich family. Him and a couple of his buddies went out drinking to Portacall (sp??) when they got kicked out of there for grabbing women. Went back to the candlewood and decided to sh_it on the floor from the elevator all the way down the hall. They took off their clothes and dumped it in front of this guys door and went to sleep. Next morning, the hotel managment called and accused the wrong FO, who had no idea of what was going on, of crapping allover the hallway. They told him to start packing his clothes and have it ready cuz the MOD was coming. They later found a wallet in the dumped clothes and the guy naked in the hallway walking around.

They still repeat this story to the new hires to spook them about good behavior.

The "Candlewood Crapper" was in my class

So it is a true story. I always thought it was an urban legend to spook new hires. Is it also true that ALL the chief pilots came and spoke to your class?

Dave F came and talked to the class for about an hour, no chief pilots though. I went home that weekend so I had no clue what Dave was talking about because he never said what happend. I had to ask my classmates what he was talking about.

Wait. WAIT. So, you're telling me if I get naked and take a dump in the hallway on SKYW's dime I'm gonna get fired??!? Sheesh just how high a standard do they want over there?

I heard it was three guys but only one got fired...so the standard must not be that high. I know if you pulled that stunt at Mesa, they will look the other way!

Had a guy do something similar in basic training. I don't even think he was drunk, just a bit wierd. Eventually he was washed out.

One other thing to those who applied: CHECK YOUR JUNK EMAIL FOLDER.

That may be one reason qualified applicants are not recieving interview invites!

Skywest is one of the two regionals that I would work for, Horizon being the other one. The low pay and long upgrade times kept me away. If you want to get serious pilots to interview lower your times and start looking in different places. One place is to look for CFI's with low time and no 121 experience because they will work hard and they understand what it takes to make it to the next step.
later
