I have responded to these accusations many times. I have a few friends that work there and I think all the gj bashing is out of line.

That's an interesting statement to make, especially given this post

Then this post

this post is pretty good, where you say:

I am just giving facts because some people are interested in GJ. We didnt cause layoffs....our pay is the same as skywest at the captain level and more the first year as an fo.

And then my personal favorite, this post, where you say the following:

er ego, pilots everywhere are dying to know....what is a SMART MOVE? Yes it was a smart move....captains pay 56 an hour after 3 months.....and 1000 pic after 14 months....now tell me redbood....was saying no really a smart move....by the way my 23 an hour fo pay to start is more than skywest and many other regionals to start to fly the 70 seat jet...so now who really lowered the bar...certainly not GO Jet.....keep up with the lies and Ill keep building PIC....

As far as 717 and all your other buddies....they are not going to be able to stop anybody and you all know it or you wouldnt be so pissed off.....it Go JET was truly a career ender than you would want guys going there because when you show up for an interview against us you would get the job....but wait...you wont show up because youll still be a gear monkey in an erj......was to go voting no....you really did yourself and the industry a service.....now go to work for sky west the company that started lowering the bar. And if my grammar and spelling sucks...than TS im just pumping this out while i head out and celebrate with my wife my upgrade and passing of my fed ride and line check.

So you'll understand when I loudly call bullsh!t when you claim to have worked at Skywest for the last five years. Why don't you just admit you work for GoJet and hate ALPA? At least then you wouldn't be such a farkin' liar...

If ASA was to agree to a contract below what SKW is being paid now, I would bet that all new flying would go to ASA and that SKW would be told that you cost to much. Have no doubts about it, SKW Inc. will wipsaw our to pilot groups aganist each other!

Apples to oranges. AA is APA and TWA was ALPA. American bought at fire sale and was 4 times larger than TWA. The seniority at US Airways and America west is a mess due to the difference in relative ages and longevity. AAA furloughed almost to the most senior longevity at Cactus. DOH would be a staple.

Skywest and ASA are in a different situation. Their ages are similar, Skywest 30+ years and ASA 25+ years. They fly almost identical fleets. I know the EMB-120 is retired from ASA, but it is still in our Op Specs. And, at acquisition, the workforce was similarly sized 1750 to 2100 or so. Your input is welcome, but you must first vote in your dog to this fight.

Just for the record, this is my third airline job and I was ALPA at the last two, I've seen good and bad things from ALPA but I would prefer to be union than not. I sent my card in already.
I just don't think it's helpful to make such blanket statements claiming that ALPA will solve your woes when it comes to things like seniority integration, these kinds of things will be contentious regardless of union status.

Skywest pilots would gain a great medical doctor, lawyer, and the ability to gain your job back in the event you were fired for something that didnt happen, example= a flight attendant falsely accuses you of sexual harrassment

One that that will be guaranteed if a union comes on the property is that the payrates/work rules get frozen for the 4-5 years while they hammer out a contract. No thanks.
