Continental Express operates ERJs for Delta out of LAX. You will fly up North to Vancouver and Spokane and down South into Mexico (Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta - NICE) and East to Phoenix, Denver and others (great mix of seasons and good instrument time). You'll get great route variety, interesting layovers as well as good jet time. COEX also operates its own brand out of Ontario but I don't know how well it is doing in general... Check it out!

Since I live in LA my number one choice was XJT. Every time I went to give them a resume they only offered me an internship...

What's your source? The Expressjet's 145XRs are very versitile and can't be easily replaced. Who would you expect as a potential replacement?
