The 182 is MUCH more comfortable than a 172. I like the fact that it's a lot wider than a 172, so you are not always bumping elbows with your seatmate. and you can't beat a IO-470, unless its an IO-520 :p

A Cardinal is roomier than a 182, and cheaper to operate.

That is true, and the RG is one sexy lookin machine. It just needs a bigger engine though. ;)

That's true, the 182 is a four fat person airplane, the cardinal is 2 fatties and a skinny.

You can pick up a nice comanche 250 for aroun 70-80K
I'll second the motion on that plane. They're old, but one of the best "bang for the buck" planes I've ever flown.

My old flight club had a couple, they were very popular. A lot of us got our commercial in it. It's a good mix between a trainer and a high performance cruiser.

Got a quote on insurance for the SR20. Going to be around $2500/yr. Doesn't sound too bad, but I am having second thoughts after all the negative comments on here...

I wouldn't say that they have been negative, but I honestly think that you would not be happy with one if you decided to purchase it. Its only good at two things-looking good and killing doctors.
