What is "United Services"?

I just heard of a company called United Services. I heard among other things they train foreign pilots and use (rent?) UAL's sims. Also some of the instructors there are from United - retired or part time (if such thing is possible..)

1. Are they actually a part of United?
2. Do they train up to FAA standards i.e. give US FAA type ratings?

I believe it is a corporation owned by UAL that performs contract training. I do know it was listed as an asset in their bankruptcy filing.

So, to answer your question-they can do anything United can do--train all seat positions for all types UAL operates to FAA type-rating/ATP standards.

Does anyone know how much they charge for say initial 737 for foreign pilots? And how much UAL's own initial 737 training costs?
