I agree, I think longevity within payscales should go away. It only encourages outsourcing and new startups and disadvantages established airlines, which hurts pilots in the long run. I just think that to achieve that, we'll have to either do it at a time when we have the leverage to bring EVERYBODY up to the "year 12+" scale, or we'll have to bring the high-longevity payscales down to the middle at the same time we're bringing the bottom up. Senior guys won't like that one bit and will fight it tooth and nail.

Wow Rez... I can't believe I actually agree with you here... however, I do have one little remark - we ARE ALREADY socialist. What about a union isn't socialist?

Isn't socialism where the state owns all property... there are no free elections, or liberty at all for that matter..

Unions control no property. There are free elections and voting. Political factions can sieze control and power... sounds NON socialistic to me....

Never before have so many contracts become ammendable at the same time....

I think the pilots that have 10-20 years left have more to lose than the senior pilots with 10 or less.

Now is the time to get organized and be politically effective. There is nothing wrong with creating a grassroots movement to effect change at any given union....

We don't want to kill the golden goose, we just want to choke it by the neck until it gives us every last egg

That pretty good

Rez: I'm in agreement with you on this.

Our path back will begin with addressing the RLA.

Agreed! With so many contracts becomming amendable at the same time, a labor freindly Admin taking office... opportunity is here....

The only condition is each pilots needs to be a bit more, not allot, a little bit more participatory.... a little more active...
