Has PDT lost anymore planes recently? I think when I left, was around the time the scuttlebutt about loosing 300's/200/s, getting old 100's from the desert, etc. What became of that?
 
I don't think we've lost any more planes, except maybe for replacing more 200s with 100s. It's still the same old "status quo" mantra from mgmt. Is it a coincidence that our leases expire at the same time we start contract negotiations? I think not. I'm bracing for a good old fashioned ultimatum from mgmt when those leases expire: Take our deal or you won't have any airplanes to fly.
 
The last 200s disapear this month.

I had the fella who runs our heavy check operation up in Montreal on the airplane to MDT a few nights ago. He said that Piedmont was signing a "long term contract" for heavy checks... what that means really I have no idea. I asked him about equipment additions, he said that management had been looking for -300s, but there was simply none to be found. There are a few -100s out there, and maybe we might see more of those in the short term. I believe he mentioned putting the SBY parts bird back out there... That would be a real piece of work to put back together I'd imagine.

There are no plans to get rid of the -300s that I am aware of outside of the usual unsubtantiated rumor and inuendo. I thought some of the -100 and -200 leases had been extended out beyond 2010... I might be wrong though.

On the other hand... There are LGA flight attendants who say we are going out of business in April. Must be true.
 
A catering fellow in CLT told me (while stocking Cokes, Beer, and wine) the the leases on 4 200's have been extended.

I hear ya. If it happens, they can take all of the corroded POS airplanes and stick them where the sun don't shine.....

What happened with 906? 965 looked like it had some "issues" this morning too.

a FAA recirc. Too bad the jazz that lands and TO in the US has a higher MTOW than we do, because its certified in Canadu. Costs to much to get it done down here. Oh well, doody doody daa, PDT MNGT are clowns. Didly doody da...

Ahh. . .yes. . .so much drama in MDT. A bunch of grown men who have been dreaming about flying a big jet for 25 years. But that's another story.

Does it seem like the maintenance cancellations are getting worse? Over the summer it seemed as if we never met targets for on time performance.

I'd have to say that guy is NOT in the MDT "winner/a-hole" group. He happens to be one of the nicest and most skilled people/pilots I know and I've known him for along time. Not the type of person/capt I was talking about.

They were gonna up many of the newer 100's that had the same wing spar as the 200's........ I guess when they found out that they were gonna have spend money they nix'ed it! Seems today all they are really trying to do is get planes from A to B with spending as little cash as possible! I see a big melt down in PDT future!! Gonna run out of tape eventually!

Bottom line in any business that is successful .............. If you wanna make money, well, your gonna have to send some!!

And since they aren't spending any on us!!! Well, nevermind.....

F.S. is defineatly one of best guys I have ever flown with, even though I only did 2 trips w/him, and don't work at PDT anymore, every time I see him in around I get the "Hey Man (in the best F.S. voice). Now as far as MDT captains goes, Capt NOTcool is a different story....(all you MDT guys know who that is especially you G2T!)

Didnt he get a black eye from being hit in the face on an overnight, something about not paing a tab? Someone else can elaborate im sure.

And i hope someday I can sport the same head of hair as F.S. Ya gotta love it.
 
yea f.s is a good pilot, mr. notcool ahh yea not so cool to say the least he is one wierd dude, actuallly there is a lot of wierd dudes in mdt. a lot of days i'm glad there are a lot of old crusty nasty alg pilots , bacuase they have been through it all, but other days i am sick of the crappy attitudes they have.
 
Yea, I third F.S. being an awesome dude to fly with. He's one of the more "normal" MDT captains. And there's supposedly a tape to prove it ;) :D

I have no idea who you're talking about, but hey- he drives turdbo-props, so he's okay in Sig's book.
