Well it all depends on how far away from retirement you are. Wether or not you have a family etc...

25 no kids, no mortage. hey drive on and enjoy the jet time. We have been lucky this year with a strong union and mec and now almost everyone of our FO's is on Capt pay. I don't know what Flex pays but I suspect it is close to ours. In simple terms not counting interest you would be some $50K behind. Compound that over the course of a career and you really see the difference. But hey I'm obviously much closer to retirement so what do I know..

Good luck at Flex...My only word of advice would be to never think your present job will be your last...

Over the last year or two I've conversed with all the different frac company pilots at FBO's and I came to the conclusion that Flexjet and CS were indeed the happiest group of people. I never heard one negative comment from any flexjet pilot. They all seemed to like their company and that is one big reason why I chose to work at flexjet. Can't wait to start class!
I was at Signature in DAL and a 5 yr Flexer was asking me all about NJA. He wants to get hired. While I was sitting there in crew rot he used the Computer there and applied to NJA and CS. He was not too happy it sounded mostly with his schedule. Said he thought it was destroying his marriage. I said if you come to NJA you will take a big paycut. He said he did not care....

Thats just one. I have run into others. Many have left to go to NJA. Perhaps they did not want to live in Dallas.

He also complained about rest and duty rules. Sounds like a different interpretation of 135/91K rest rules than what we have from the CMH FSDO.

Maybe... our President says we are the only ones obeying the rules. I rather obey the rules than be happy... or be paid more.

There's always unhappy people everywhere. Judging from this board and its 10,000 posts from disgruntled NJA pilots, I would guess there are a few at NJA that are trying to get on at Flex as well.

Funny, I wish I could find someone that would interpret the 91k regs clearly to me sometime. Intersting how the most important parts of the 91k regs are the most unclear...
