You can say the same thing about the NJI pilots, they always have a great attitude and love their job

Thanks for the compliment, I'll second that! I couldn't be happier, and I work with the greatest pilots and FA's in the industry.

Well ... I actually did just that, this past weekend, after having wound up in a rather large group of them at a small FBO in NC. The general consensus was reflected in one specific comment from an Excel Captain: "We have our problems, too, but they are mostly minor growing pains. Most people really like it here."

I run into the CS guys all the time, and some are happy, some are not. The biggest complaint I hear is from FO's regarding the "upgrade based on merit" thing. They don't upgrade by seniority apparently. Overall, they seem happy....but chances are the NJA and FLOPS guys you talk to are the vocal minority. There are probably many more that you don't talk to because they are in and out so quickly that they don't have time to talk to anybody.

If you run into a FLOPS guy flying a Hawker....with really short hair(like the haircut you got when you entered basic) and "some" facial hair(;) )....introduce yourself as Minh, and I'll buy ya a beer. Some of us are d!cks, most of us are not.

I've heard alot of complaints about having to wear the uniform jacket while sitting in the FBO.
That policy musta' been changed. Not one of the six guys I talked to was wearing a jacket. They were all Captains, by the way ... no three-stripers in sight.

Thanks, Frac, I'll take you up on that (but I'll take a Coke, instead). I saw a FLOPs Hawker crew in CHS a couple weeks ago. One was wearing the uniform, but with a red baseball cap. Wuzzatchu? :D

Minh
(He really was wearing a red ball cap with his uniform. Strange ... but kinda Quirky Kool.)

Its called evolution...Wait 5 years when CS has been around a bit....Then ask the guys how they feel....

6 years ago at EJA I was happy because I knew we were all working our asses off for the collective good and that we would be rewarded for that labor....then things changed and all of the old EJA management was fired, demoted etc...so to create the new rebranded NETJETS with a new corporate philosophy of increasing profits at the expense of labor and peoples lives...

And here we are today

Uhmm yeh I am gonna have to go ahead and uh disagree with you on that...lucky enough to have met a few folks from there at a local FBO, some of the nicest people I've met, who seem pretty content with what they are doing...and no news is good news...after looking over many posts on this sight...pretty sure haven't seen much news or chatter on CS.....nj, options, etc.....different story

There's a general reluctance among the pilot group to complain in front of other pilots you don't know. You never know who will stab you in the back in hopes of increasing their merit score. It's happened to me.

merit score? For upgrade?

How can someone stab you in the back with a bad merit score?

Again, I'll have to disagree with the notion that the CS pilots are terrified of sounding off. I was with one for a while, completely alone, and asking the kinds of questions a newbie would be asking that would lend an opportunity, possibly even an obligation, for the 'mentor' to clarify for the 'mentoree' just how bad it really could get. And yet I still got the "We have our problems, but they're small stuff compared to everyone else's."

So I dunno ... I just never got the feeling he wasn't on the level. And yes, things may be radically different in a few years, but for now, I'd say the CS guys I've spoken with genuinely like it there.

Lucky bastidges. :D

Minhommad the Muslim Porkchop King

Edit ... the guy I hung with was ex-US Air Express. So maybe I should have taken that into account, considering the absolute horror stories those guys tell here. :D

Nope, not me. I don't wear a hat with the uniform. I carry one in my bag so I can disguise myself when in civvies and want to get away from all the damm pilots, though.

I'll third that!! Best people anywhere, but I cannot figure why they hired me.
