What should I expect? A limo to the hotel? Presidential suits at 5 star hotels? Massages, susi bars, free drinks, cruises, a house in the hamptons, Lakers tickets, and gift baskets with Rolex watches, ipods and jewelry?

My previous post wasn't so much about my past as it was about dismal state of affairs for a lot of pilots. If you're curious, I came from ACA / Independence and a lot of pilots would argue that we had one of the best contracts in the regional industry. Commuter clauses, iron clad scope, profit sharing, respectable wages, decent qol. Doesn't change my statement that this is my best job so far. I can live with the pay if you factor in the fastest upgrade this side of the middle east. I love the 7/7 sched. I like the points and miles I earn. I like the flying we do more than the old 'hub and spoke' I used to fly.

We are doing fine at avantair. We don't need NJ to protect us or look down your nose at us. I would put a gun to my head if I were a NJ new hire looking at 7+ years to upgrade. (go on, tell me it's 3 to 5. I'll bet you a pepsi I'm right.)

I'm not bashing NJ at all and I wish ya'll the best. Just stop worrying about us and accusing us of "not knowing what we're missing". We'll get there, promise.

DAAAMNN!!! THAT IS FU**ING ICEBERG COLD!!!! IT IS SUB-ZERO UP IN THIS BIATCH!!!!

Flybet, you get half credit...:p My friends there would like to get industry standard wages. But I will also add that I had been wondering why you weren't unhappy making less than the going rate; with help I now "get it", too.

Hey hey now, I never said that you were going to say that, I was kinda leaning in Pebbles direction. I know this company is going through some growing pains, but this company has ALOT I mean ALOT of potential, they are in a position in which they could become Great! better than NJ, or just PATHETIC, like...well just about every regional. I dont know if I am going to be here until retirement, all I know is that I have a nice schedule, not best (2 and 7 is more my kind) OK pay not the best ($30,000 a week is more like it) not very good benefits so far, but it beats no bennies. I like avantair, I have enjoyed flying with every captain I have been here, not b/c i am difficult guy but b/c I am jerk magnet. This is the first job were every captain I have flown with has fun, they enjoy their job, they have great teaching methods and eventhough they do have some complaints. They also have alot of hope and wishes for the company. Time will tell, all we have to do is wish each other the best, help each other out, and remember that the best company can become the worst and the worst can become the best. The same person who you "spit" on today may be the one who has to "feeds" you tomorrow.(Dam that's deep)

Anyway, changing subject.....HEY NETJETWIFE!!!....HEY!!!...HEY!!!........DO YOU HAVE BIG BOOBS???

This squabbling is getting annoying........ How about we answer people's questions and then move on?????

What question? Who asked? Alright, I'll answer....Yes, I like it here, some love it. 30K the first year, some bennies, 7.5 on 6.5 off, closer to the 7 & 7, upgrade in a year, you're paid perdiem during training, rumors about jets, 3 new Avanti 2s in the hangar, 1 is coming online. Is it the best here, NO, but it's a hell alot better than other places. I also like long legs, a big rack, nice butt and if she can cook then even better. Oh wait....what were we talking about here? :erm:

YES I TOOK OVER THE THREAD!!! I NEED TO HIT 1000 POSTS BY MONDAY! Is anyone going to watch the grudge 2?? I am not going to sleep right for a month again!

NJW- define "industry standard wages"?

NJA, as the largest fractional company, certainly makes a big impact. CS raised their pilots' pay shortly after the NJ CBA came out, recognizing that there was a new benchmark to meet and/or exceed. Thus, wages that are comparable to those two can be said to fall in line with the industry standard. Consider these definitions of standard--

Widely recognized or employed as a model of authority or excellence: a standard reference work. Not enough frac pilots have excellent wages for this to apply now but it should be the goal for the future, in keeping with their responsibility, safety record, and service.

Acceptable but of less than top quality: a standard grade of beef.
This is a good description of many NJ and CS PIC pilots' wages. The FO wages should be in this category, as well.

Commonly used or supplied: standard car equipment.
This is where the FO wages fall. There are enough NJ and CS pilots combined to justify use of the term.

Hey, by now everyone knows what they're letting themselves in for when they ask me a question....:p To quote my husband--don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to...:D
