The press always gets these things right. Their track record is flawless.

IF the eyewitness and press reports ARE correct, then and only then will there be repercussions for the crew. Again, I find the whole thing incredulous, including why they didn't divert (as someone else said earlier...)

My guess as a JB pilot (and only a guess as I haven't heard anything official) is that during the flight the pilots come out to use the Lav as they normally do and talk to the FA in the galley, Pax see this and add their own dialogue to what they see as they can't really hear what is going on.
