Bluto,

Any idea what a "wheenie" is? G L can't even spell weenie correctly. I think the reason many of us hve placed him on the "ignore list" is that we come to these forums to discuss various topics. I guess GL couldn't get enough of the action on his high school debate team so he comes here for gratification. I have to hand it to him though. He is a "master debater."

Incidentally GL I haven't seen you debate. Ever. All you do is keep repeating the same things over and over again. In the case of this thread there cannot be any real meaningful debate, only guesses as to what the future holds. Like most folks I hope DAL stays alive. Otherwise I guess you'll have lots of time on your hands to monopolize every thread on the Regional Forums.

Wow, I really like the new names assigned to me. Wonderful. If people want to place me on their ignore list, then fine. Doesn't hurt me at all. It does show however, their lack of confidence when confronted with a topic they cannot debate. Dave thinks I repeat my stance often, which may be true, but then cannot debate his own stance, and when confronted with direct quotes from people or articles which back up my stance, he gets nervous and bails out. That's fine Dave. This is a free board and everyone can give opinions, as many as they want in my case.

Dave, come back and play when you grow up.

For all your debating skills , you have failed to come up with a single accurate prediction (I've stopped keeping track of the number inaccurate ones) about SkyWest's future. In fact, most of your DL predictions have fallen miserably short as well. If I were you, I'd keep your day job, fortune-telling definitely isn't your thing.

Never come up with an accurate prediction? I predicted your single pay rate for jets would affect other airlines, and now Comair was forced to do the same in court. You guys really hurt the regional airline industry when 3/4s of your pilots went for growth instead of common sense, and you weren't even in BK. You guys have hurt the regional airline industry more than MESA's low wages.

Also, please state a DL prediction I have fallen short of. This will be good. A prediction please. Hmmmmm.

Ok, I'll bite...

I hit the "View Post" to see what GL had to say in response.

What is my stance GL?

Your problem is you lump me in with a bunch of other people with whom I may or may not share an opinion. I realize when you make nearly 7000 posts you probably don't have time to get things straight.

I challenge you to show an example of where I got "nervous."

Until you can do that I invite you to simply STFU and think about getting a life outside FlightInfo. Why is it that on a thread containing 90 something posts that half of them are yours? Why do you feel so compelled to simply repeat the same things over and over and over and over again and again and again? Here's another challenge for you. Review the past hundred of your own posts. Note the repetition. You can distill everything in a hundred of your posts down to a paragraph. Think about that next time you post. You remind me of some politician that thinks if he says something often enough that people will believe. Your coworkers don't have a high opinion of you. They've privately shared some of the stuff you've said on the ALPA board. You're embarassing some of them by your comments here. Oh and if you're not going to stop why don't you grow a pair and put your real name down. If you feel so strongly about the issues why are you afraid of attaching your name to your opinions?

An example of your nervousness? You put me on ignore when you couldn't answer my questions. This forum is for debate and info finding. Putting me on ignore after we start a debate shows your lack of confidence in your own answers.

And, I enjoy this forum. Can I not do something I enjoy? I spend plenty of quality time with my wife, and I do other things athletic in nature, and I fly mostly turns a few times during the week or sometimes on the weekend. You can't tell me what I can and cannot do, especially when I enjoy it. You need to enjoy yourself more in PDX on that E120, maybe get out on that boat more and meet a girl.

And, I don't have to attach my name, since most of my opinions may not be understood by people above me. I think it is pretty dumb for anyone to actually put their real name on a thread---sounds cool and really tough, but it could come back to haunt you--expecially in hiring circles. But, you sound like you want to be a lifer at SkyWest. If that is the case, good for you, no problem with that.

And DL people don't like what I say? Really? I have filled up my PM box twice, or 300 messages each, with mostly good PMs. Some were not very nice, but that is the way it goes. Overwhelmingly they supported what I have said. I will take their word for it, not yours. My SkyWest buddy in SLC says your name is "famous" on your SkyWest board. He laughed when I told him you put me on ignore. Seems like you are famous in a bad way on two boards.

So, thanks for finally coming to play and actually responding to a post of mine. I respect your opinion, even it attacks me. I can take it.

Actually I didn't put you on ignore in the middle of a debate. I just got tired of reading the same thing over and over again. It's sort of like fast forwarding through commercials if you have TIVO. You really need to look at your posts sometime. They really are repetetive.

I agree that I need to get out on one of the boats more. I might actually get out this Friday if it warms up. I had to go to Socal a few weeks ago to get some sailing in. Still cold in these parts. I'm not sure if I should follow your advice about meeting some girls on the boat. My wife probably wouldn't appreciate that. Could use an agile female bowwoman for the new raceboat though. Less weight on the bow keeps the boat moving faster during jibes.

I'm not afraid to attach my name to my opinions. I can understand your fear though. If I made as many childish posts with high school level sexual innuendo I'd be afraid to put my name to the post as well.

I think I write clearly enough so that my opinions can be understood by anyone. There are not a lot of airlines that I would give up my seniority to leave for except for one. Does that make me a lifer at my current job? Maybe I suppose. I don't think airlines have a policy against hiring someone with opinions. Do you really think that the folks on the interview team, say somewhere like Southwest, are busily taking notes of everything posted on this board? I can see it now. "Hey look at what this guy said. Let's check the application database and see if this guy is in it. Yep better red flag that one."

Best of luck to ya. If the DAL thing does go south we might be able to use you as a part time shipping clerk. You checked out on a tape dispenser?

Hey, I admire you coming back and posting again, even if it was a slam. And, I just don't think it is a good idea to have your name floating out there, primarily because you don't know who is reading, or who may remember your name. He or she may not agree with your ideas or opinions, and this aviation circle is a small one. But hey, you must have the guts to do it, so good for you.

Will this DL thing go south? I don't know. It would hurt your company also no doubt. But, I would love to be a shipping clerk for you---as long as you pay for moving expenses from ATL to PDX, and I get atleast 2 weeks of paid vacation a year...... Otherwise, I have a Wendy's Managerial job hopefully waiting for me. Free food--ah yeah.

I think we can both agree that we want to see you stay employed. Personally I don't think a strike will happen and if it does the government will get involved pretty quick. Just a guess.

We'd have to really check out your background before paying your moving expenses. Maybe we could do some sort of PFT program. You pay $7000 for training and then we give you $7000 for moving expenses. Now here's the good part. I think the minimum wage in Oregon is much higher than the minimum wage in GA. No can do on the paid vacation until you're off probationary period. Checkride standard is 20 boxes per hour, packed, taped, and labelled. The Wendy's job might be easier.

General, I stopped reading your posts as your avatar is driving me nuts. It was amusing for about a day.

No way!!! The Redneck Fightin Machine RULES!!!!!

What was this thread about again? There is so much boring banter on this forum nowadays... The General has his opinions and perspective and everyone else has their own too.

About the only thing I like to read from GL is the avatar. I have a buddy who is in Afghanistan on a hummer patrol who got into a conflict with a taxi cab. The taxi lost & the pics are funny.

Personally, I am not worried. About the only thing I am doing because of this show down is dumping money into a high interest vs. my 05' ROTH. I think a compromise will be reached.

If. IF Delta strikes, yeah it will be hard for SKYW, but I doubt if it will be the doomsday scenario that GL says it will be. WHY? We are a feeder carrier, we will feed for whoever replaces DAL. Yes, other companies may bid on the flying, but we already have the people in place. We might park a few planes, but I don't think it will be long. Good luck to us all!

A given number of butts desiring transport from "A" to "B" requires a corresponding number of seats from "A" to "B". If Delta and their seats depart for greener pastures, sombody else will attempt to seat the aforementioned butts, perhaps at a higher price, and with a reduced capacity.
My wild stab in the dark...
The shift in flying for Delta's current (non-wholly owned) regional partners (ASA, SKW, CHQ, Freedom) won't take a whole lot longer than it will take to have the airplanes repainted.

Opportunity.

I heard that SKYW would own the Delta gates in ATL in event of Delta liquidation.

If true, that affirms that there are some smart, forward-thinking people at SKYW, just like at ASA!

Copy-Dat!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't SKYW lack a marketing dept? There is more to running an airline than flying planes from A to B, guys. If SKYW doesn't have the infrastructure needed to run an airline independently, wouldn't it be next to impossible for them to "replace" DAL flying? At least without a fairly significant transition period.
