What does it take to become an ATC?

I thought they had shut down the MARC program a while back but it looks like it's up and running again.

yea, now it is just finding a place that the wife and I can agree on to move to for 2 years to do the training.

Are all schools for this 2 year programs? Just wondering if they had any 18 month or 12 month programs. Seeing that I turn 28 next week. I heard you had to be UNDER 30 to be an ATC, or start as one.
