It's exactly like a reserve Officer. I have the same duties as a full time LEO (law enforecemtn officer) except that I only work 1/4 to 1/2 of the time. Not many departments will pay the reservist, but some do.

In the fall, I'm a football official for the local youth football program. It's $20 bucks to get trained and you can pull down about $250 each Saturday.
