I would guess that is a fairly recent stat. It might even be a little low. If you are a white male, you need over 1300 to get in right now.

Of course, I only made it 1 year (1982-3,) so I guess I wasn't smart enough, had to finish my degree at Riddle...

I'm so smart because my dad, who got on with Eastern during the strike, paid for me to go to college. Boy did I party it up, but when I realized it was time to move on I asked my dad to pay for training at the Gulf Stream Academy.

He did but I found that I couldn't get a job so I applied with Freedom airlines as it seemed a great place to start my career. Shortly after I moved to Mesa airlines and I'm happy to say I'm building jet time faster than ever and I expect to upgrade any day now. Especially if the RJDC wins big! I'd say hopefully God and Jesus will help me upgrade, but I know god doesn't exist and Jesus was black and gay, and well, I'm not praying to a dead black gay dude that married a prostitute to hide it.

But who gives a sh#t? This is the first time I've been asked what my SAT scores were since applying for college. Looking back I wish I had spent more time partying, then maybe I could have got a DUI or something and wouldn't be in this god-forsaken industry...Just kidding, I think.

I really cant rememeber my SAT scores as they were...well...about 12 yrs ago....but I doubt they were above 1000. I truly had better things to worry about at the time (like partying and chiks you dork)

By the way it was a 1390 not a 1300, and why in the world would I lie or brag about a SAT score on an anonymous board? I was answering the thread. Like I said who gives a sh#t. It's an outdated test that samples math and verbal knowledge and has nothing to do with IQ.

Let's see I made 26k last year. Wow you made more! That must make you feel real special! I'm happy for you. Now you've got enough cash to go pay a pretty girl to talk to you and make you feel even better. Good luck dealing with that small-guy complex.

but since you went there.....a big-daddy score of 1390 and you are swingin gear on a 1900 for 23K/yr???. This defintely shows that the SAT is an outdated, useless test. With that score I would have gone to med school...

But I know, its not how much money you make, its about being able to fly airplanes and get up each morning knowing you are doing what others dream of.. I know, I know....

Well I shouldn't have attacked you there, I thought your post was in response to mine. As for aviation, just a few years ago this was a good job. Would you really have gone to med school? 24 hour+ shifts 4 days per week as a resident, after 8+ years of college. Sky high insurance rates and being surrounded by the sick and dying your whole career. Not my cup of tea.

The piloting job took a long, hard fall. It used to be a world class profession if you were luck enough to make the big leagues. But that was back before the RJ plague arrived. It's a bitch when the rules change halfway through the game.

yes, really, knowing a few Docs myself - I surely would have gone into surgery. I couldn't believe these guys were in school years after I was...but looking at it now, they are in thier early to mid 30's and really starting to make serious dough!! (400K+ easy) and they just dont seem to work those "killer" hours docs talk about...

but hey, that doesn't matter I guess...all I can do is fly an airplane...but it could be worse....far worse.

The ACT is a knowledge test; the SAT is an APTITUDE test, ergo the name "Scholastic Aptitude Test." That is, it claims to measure one's APTITUDE to learn and succeed in a college setting. As such, I'm willing to bet there's a casual relationship between the SAT score and a person's IQ.

Having said that, I must add: “So what?” Until SAT score is included as part of the formula for determining compensation, I don't think it matters to anybody OTHER than the college admissions bunch.


It might make an interesting POLL, though.

Never took the SAT. U. Tenn. didn't require it.

Got a 43 on the ACT, though...as if it matters.
