So, with all this in mind, can I get a Hell Yeah?!
Hell yeah!

Actually, I think the people who mentioned that pilots will take 23k a year to fly a jet because it's an upgrade from CFI pay have hinted at the root of the problem. For a job that has as much responsibility and liability involved as teaching someone else how to fly, CFIs are the ones getting screwed. If they started demanding livable wages, I think that could start a chain reaction up the ladder and we wouldn't have to "whore ourselves" to corporate operators just to not need food stamps.

"Well, if you had a grasp of English, you'd know therein lay your problem... Keep flying your c206, and leave the jet flying to the kids..."

Speaking of having a firm grasp of English, I believe it's "therein lies your problem." How can you guys cry about grammar and then not proofread your own replies?! By the way, the C206 is a great airplane.

Livable wage?

If CFI's started demanding a livable wages, whatever that is, there would be fewer students, and thus fewer CFI jobs. It is the old supply and demand thing that keps getting in the way. Remeber if you fly because you like to, you will not be disappointed with a flying career, but if you are in it for the money, you may be disappointed

hey...if you make that your sig, you wont have to type it all out every time you post ;)

thanks for the tip

I just made it my signature, ran it through spell check just to be sure, how do you like it? I could have made it "No college required", but that is too controversial.
