I'll take anything made by Campy over Shimano Ultegra/Durace any day. Shimano sucks. Yes, I know I am in the minority opinion among the road crowd.

Anyone know how late the ski season goes in the Salt Lake City area? I'm getting off active duty in mid-Feb and wondering if there will be any good tracks left into the March timeframe.

Oh, and before I forget, any good BBQ in SLC???

There will be plenty of tracks. Last year the ski season lasted until JULY. It was limited to SnowBird. All of the resorts stay open until the 2nd week of April or longer. BBQ uh there is a famous daves...???? and a GoodWood?????? Most likely you need to get your BBQ out of state.

You need to head north for real BBQ. Either eastern NC for vinegar-based BBQ, or even Lexington for some tomato-based BBQ.

I've been looking for a good Eastern NC Bar-B-Que slaw recipe. I believe it's vinegar based with some kind of hot sauce(Texas Pete?). That gives it a light red tint. Anybody?

I never said Campy wasn't any good, but it is too danged expensive. I'll concede that Record is very good stuff and slightly better than DA, but Ultegra, IMO, is a bit better than Chorus. More times than not the guy riding the Colnago draped with carbon Record is a Fred with more money than talent. I wouldn't mind a full Record gruppo. I just don't want to spend $3K for it and I'm not fast enough to be sporting all that bling. My talent level is a nice Ti frame and 9 speed Ultegra/DA mix. Ride what you want, but if you show up at one of our group rides on a Merckx/Campy rig you had better be ready to do it justice. We have a couple of guys that will assume you have thrown down the gauntlet. Not me though. I'll be back in the pack wheel sucking somebody.

Actually the price of Shimano has gone up so much that Campy is not that much more expensive anymore. A record build up is not a whole lot more than Dura-Ace has become and after tens of thousands of miles on Ultegra, I can't stand the stuff anymore. Also, the Chorus, which is just about as good as the Record is significantly cheaper than Dura-Ace and not tremsnously more expensive than Ultegra.
