The XRJ has the same speed/altitude certification as the ERJ/LRJ. M.78/FL370. It would've gone higher and faster, but I think it would've been more of a headache to get FAA certification. There's also a new takeoff thrust setting to allow high altitude takeoffs between pressure altitudes of 8,000' to 10,000'.
