What is going on here?

Pilots looking to go to SWA, new hires quiting after a few months.

Did things get that bad? Real question ... is all to this true.

I know 1st hand of a former NWA (not on furlough) who up and quit after flying the line for 6 or so months.

How about the rest.

alaska

Alaska probably was not there goal in the first place. The hiring Dept. are really trying to weed these people out even more now before they go to ground school.

Call em up....1-800-ALASKAAIR. Ask to speak to Rob Spero, Chief Pilot. Ask him these questions. See what he says, if you have the courage.

The only answers you'll get on here are wishful thinking doom and gloom BS from malcontents.

Yea. And you will get the real story from Spero. Sure.

Couldn't be any less "real" than the one you'll get on this piss poor excuse for an infomational site, that's for sure.

What is going on? Pilots are pissed off! No we have not forgotten the kasher award as George B. said we would.
One new hire did leave within the first few weeks for SWA and rumor has it many more are looking to go there as well as FDX.
So far no real growth, as promised by the 2010 plan, which means years of reserve and probably 8-10 years to upgrade.

I heard rumors that they were closing all routes north of Seattle and south of Anchorage, that they have suspended the ETOPS certification program, that they are selling delivery slots on the -800s, that the uniforms will change to a kind of grey color and each pilot will be required to buy their own, that the pilots will be required to attend traning on their days off for free and that there will be no more CASS and free unlimited pass travel.

What gives?
