My Brother in-law is a yuppity yupp Corporate Executive with "Watchoverya"

He tried to get me to take a job with them last year. For some reason they keep having 'turnover' problems....

Wanted nothing to do with it.

That sounds about right. I'm in 135, looking for a job, and I don't want anything to do with that job just after reading the description. Work 22 days a month, gone most of them? 4 to 5 days a week with 1 to 2 weekends a month? No thank you, I have a life. Hell, you can find better QOL freight dogging for Polar. I definitely don't mind working, and I don't mind being gone some......that's part of the job. But if I want to never be home, I'll fly a 747 for Kalitta or something like that.

h25b--At least he didn't call you "kid"... :D TC

I was hoping the "kid" terminology would go away with my 30th birthday last summer along with my bald-headedness. A buddy of mine I flew with down at BAK called me the other day just to tell me how much weight I had gained and how much hair I'd lost... I asked him if he'd like to come over and kick my cat as well...

Well, don't keep us in suspense! Did he?! :D

Not yet... I didn't really care, it's not like he was pointing out anything that my wife hadn't already. :D

I don't think I'll ever stop getting called "kid," I seem to get along better with people 15-30 years older... I guess if you read the regionals forum one could understand why.

Capt- V,

I would'nt form an opinion on the flight department just based on an employment ad.
I know a couple of the Wach pilots and they don't seem to fly as much as the ad states. I believe they fly alot of east coast out and back trips. They have a new director, a brand new G500 on their ramp and Challenger 300s will soon be replacing the Excels from what I've been told. Doesn't sound to shabby to me if your looking for a new job w/ a F500 company.

Good luck,

I'm about a year behind you, and I'm occasionally referred to as the same. Two of my biggest hobbies have a pretty big discrepancy in average age....one having average ages(locally, at least) in the early to mid 20's, but the other one having average ages in the late 30's to early 40's, and I get along with all of them - and most don't act their age(some act older, some act much, much younger!). I guess it all depends on the specific hobby/occupation/whatever and the people that are involved.

Of course, you could always push the 'kid' label off on somebody else by calling them by that name all the time....that's what I did! :D

h25b,
you don't happen to be the runner I used to cross paths with in CHS back a few years ago when I was a lucky check hauler?

Used to work for a company that had a corporate shuttle in to CHS every week so I have spent quite a lot of time there. When I did run we'd go down to the beach though...
