If things don't work out to his liking (i.e. XJT MEC plays hardball), he will simply cut his losses and cancel the acquisition. If that happens, I would be more concerned for my job if I were employed by legacy expressjet.
I personally hope both MECs work through these obstacles and get a great contract for both pilot groups.
Whose fear mongering have you been listening to? Your MEC or management? Because they cannot "cancel" the acquisition anymore.
Anyways, even if they could, I'm not married to this job. Everyone should try to position yourselves so that you are not leveraged by management with this job. But if the doors close on this place, it won't just be legacy XJT people on the streets.
I'm also optimistic that both MECs will act in the best interest of their pilots and be united when it comes to negotiating a joint contract.
