And their Chairman, Fred Greed (ex-DL President), LOVES RJs. Expect the next Indy Air. He loves "frequency"----because businessmen LOVE IT. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT PRICE OR COMFORT, ONLY FREQUENCY. Expect 23 daily RJ flights from Chicago MDW to Wausau. Businessmen WANT that.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Hmmm who said bitter ?

Well, General Lee, they got one of our former guys, too . . . . and, like you, I am less than impressed with their start-up team so far.

any word on start up date ??...or are they still dreaming about building an airline out of the W. Coast w/hq in the E.Coast?

LOL General, you are such a card. That one had me cracking up.

But seriously, I heard through the grapevine they're having trouble lining up the investors. Anyone know if there's any truth to that?

Hello again, General:

Now that post I liked!!!!!!!!!!!

All of the positions available are for management, directors or engineers. I thought that Spirit was going to be Virgin Atlantic! Wouldn't it be cheaper, easier and smoother to just say, "hey guys, we got a self-proclaimed great team of leaders, and some of those under us are real eye-candy! Can't we just join with you at Spirit and call it even? We've been trying for 2 years to introduce a new company and 30 more airplanes into the US market.........to no avail".

What I like is ANOTHER airline starting up in the US. That makes me smile. I don't think the US has enough airlines seats or planes filling the skies and our under-utilized major metropolitan airports.
I am sure they will offer lower ticket prices...and pay less than the rest.
And if you build it.....

If I was a businessman with the need to be in Wausau I'd want the frequency; to get away from the smell of the paper mill as soon as I was done with my work. If you've done time in CWA you know what I mean. Only place I've flown where I knew I was on course based on aroma. YUCK.

I heard that. But the station personnel at CWA make the trip worth doing. Unless it's in February. Glad you left XJ for greener pastures.

For the longest time, I've heard they wanted to base out of SFO.

Who knows when it will actually happen....if it even does.

I thought Virgin America was going to be another Branson company, with about 130 airplanes, all airbus, very similiar to Jet Blue. Anybody have any real info on the company or contact info? Thx

Jetblue was supposed to be Virgin America. Apparently they were all set to do it when Branson pulled out.....Neeleman decided to continue without him. Branson has apparently said that he knew missed the boat on that one.

Same reason you're able to surf the net so cheaply.

Virgin will pay their a-320 pilots less than any other 320 operator in the U.S. Thousands will line up to be domiciled in one of the most expensive cities in the country. They will have a very liberal jumpseat policy since none of their flight crews will be able to live on the west coast. This is the one occupation that won't be outsourced overseas. We will simply do it ourselves.

it still in a Branson company but legally he can only own less than half. and yes, they still plan the nonsence of being based at JFK and hubbing at SFO. When proair was operating they had a DTW hub but were based in SEA....what a disaster that was.
